Jason Steris - Richard Woolcott
President & CEO - Co-founder and executive chairman

Jason W. Steris is Volcom’s president & CEO. Prior to Mr Steris joining Volcom in 1993, he worked in action sports retail for eight years with Laguna Surf & Sport in various positions, including store manager and buyer. During 1993 to 1995, he served as Volcom’s southern California sales representative and, from 1995 to 1998, he served as national sales manager. In 1998, he became chief operating officer and has served as president since June 2008. In January 2013, he became president & CEO.

Richard R. Woolcott co-founded Volcom in 1991 and served as chief executive officer until January 2013. Mr Woolcott took the company public in 2005 and was named chairman in June 2008. He is now executive chairman of the company.
Mr Woolcott has led the company on its mission to become one of the world’s leading brands in action sports with an authentic legacy rooted in surf, skate and snow sports. He has worked to create a movement that provokes freedom of thought and expression. This spirit is celebrated through the company’s team riders, worldwide events, rock tours, feature films and apparel.
Among the company’s many awards, Volcom was honored with the TransWorld Business Industry and Retail Award: ’Brand of the Year’ in 2010. In the same year, Mr Woolcott was elected by the Leatherby Entrepreneurship Center at Chapman University for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He was inducted into the National Scholastic Surfing Association Hall of Fame in 2004 and was named the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association Individual Achiever of the Year in 2003.

From 1989 until 1991, Mr Woolcott worked in the marketing and promotions department of Quiksilver, Inc. Prior to that, he was a sponsored athlete for Quiksilver. Mr Woolcott was a member of the National Scholastic Surfing Association team from 1982 through 1985 and was selected as a member of the United States Surfing Team in 1984. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University.
