Volcom Todd Hymel

Todd Hymel, CEO
Todd Hymel joined Volcom as CEO in 2015.
A native of New Orleans, he began his career working in audit at KPMG, eventually serving as a Senior Manager in Transaction Services. In 2001, Todd was appointed to KPMG’s Paris office to handle cross-border and international Mergers & Acquisitions. For the next fourteen years, he lived and worked in France where he learned to speak French, experience European cultures, and began a passion for triathlons and gained valuable global perspectives in business. Transitioning into the world of direct investments, Todd joined Platinum Equity in 2003. In 2006, he co-founded a private equity firm, Naxos Capital Partners, specializing in small & mid-cap funds.
In 2008, Todd joined Kering as Deputy Director of Mergers & Acquisitions and played a key role in Kering’s transition from a conglomerate focused primarily on European distribution activities to a cohesive, integrated, and international group focused on apparel and accessories.  During this time, one of the many transactions he was involved with was the acquisition of Volcom. In 2012, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Kering Sport & Lifestyle Division and a director on Puma’s Administrative Board.
Today, he lives in Southern California with his family.
As the CEO of Volcom, Todd leads a team of passionate, creative brand-builders through empowerment, staying true to the brand’s roots while pushing steadily and strategically forward into the future.
