Kering Foundation

1 in 3 women in the world are victims of violence. Women make up 41% of the world’s workforce. Whether we talk about it or not, Violence against Women is an issue that touches all of us, be it as an individual, a corporation or a society. Through the Kering Foundation, my wish is to break the silence and stop the violence

Created in 2008, by François-Henri Pinault, the Kering Foundation combats violence against women. The Foundation embodies the social commitment of the Group, supporting women being an issue that resonates with the activities and the clientele of the brands, and one on which Kering as a global player can drive change alongside governments and organisations. To bring an end to the fact that 1 in 3 women in the world will be beaten, coerced into sex or otherwise abused, the Kering Foundation focuses its actions on three pillars:

Supporting local & international NGOs
 Awarding Social Entrepreneurs
Raising Awareness

with a localised approach  in each of the Kering Group’s key geographical areas:

  • 1 in 3 women worldwide are beaten, coerced into sex or abused in their lifetime
  • Over 70% of perpetrators of violence against women receive no legal sanction
  • In the US, 1 in 5 women on college campuses will be raped during her time in education
  • In Europe, over 500,000 women are vicitm to Female Genital Mutilation
