We are currently seeking a confident, commercially minded Legal Counsel to join the Alexander McQueen legal team based in our central London offices.
Your Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity to undertake a varied commercial role with a focus on retail, e-commerce and technology. You will work across the Alexander McQueen and MCQ brands at a time of significant growth and development. You will be part of a small but growing legal team which provides legal advice and support to a variety of teams within the business around the world, in collaboration with our Group legal teams in other jurisdictions.
How you will contribute:
Providing strategic and effective legal advice on a broad range of matters, including:
General commercial and indirect procurement contracts;
Distribution agreements including franchise, concessions and shop-in-shop agreements;
Omni-channel/e-commerce: b to b and b to c agreements; consumer laws and regulation;
Data protection and data privacy;
Technology and innovation;
General corporate and corporate governance matters; and real estate and construction.
Strong focus on the retail, e-commerce and technology aspects of the business.
Managing global legal projects across departments and jurisdictions.
Developing and implementing new processes, policies and training as needed, based on legal and regulatory requirements, industry standards and best practices.
Your Skills and Experience:
English qualified commercial lawyer with 4-8 years PQE.
Excellent private practice training with experience of working in an in-house legal team preferred.
Excellent drafting skills and strong attention to detail is a requirement.
Experience of technology contracts, real estate and construction desirable but not essential.
Grounding in competition and anti-trust helpful.
Prior experience of working in a global business an advantage.
Strong work ethic with experience of working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Good stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently but also recognizing when to escalate issues.
Willingness to learn and take on new challenges outside of your comfort zone.
French/Italian highly desirable.
