Role Mission
The Operations & Strategy Manager, Innovation will report to the Senior Director of Innovation & New Business Models. This position will serve as a detail-oriented business partner, interfacing with a wide range of departments and functions with the mission of managing operations tasks for the Innovation team. The Operations & Strategy Manager will develop as well as deliver strategic and pragmatic short/long term plans for the Innovation department’s initiatives. Departmental initiatives include but are not limited to expanding product offerings, managing warehouse operations and helping to define and prioritize project roadmaps.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage implementation of strategic initiatives for the Innovation department;
- Responsible for end to end project development and execution;
- Define requirements for approved initiatives;
- Create and manage a cross-functional project plan;
- Define milestones, deliverables, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) throughout all phases of project: Business Case/Concept Development, Feasibility, Design, Build, Launch, Post-Implementation Review;
- Work with functional leads to drive deliverables and meet milestones;
- Identify and resolve cross-functional issues/discrepancies;
- Make prioritization decisions;
- Report project progress to Senior Director, Innovation & New Business Models;
- Identify risks and escalate as needed;
- Monitor and analyze post-launch results vs. business case/proposal;
- Monitor business to identify potential initiatives that can improve key KPI’s
- Monitor industry developments in the luxury space and identify disruptive online businesses and strategies;
- Develop thorough understanding of client behaviors, how behaviors are evolving and impact on expectations of luxury service and offerings;
- Partner with Worldwide product flow team to understand lead time, warehouse operations and timing to deliver;
- Ensure product receipt and delivery is optimized;
- Minimize both understock and overstock situations;
- Act as a leader on the Innovation team and support with preparation of key monthly and ad hoc presentations.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, MBA not required but valued;
- 5+ years’ experience across one or more of the following types of roles: management consulting, strategy and/or e-commerce business / marketing;
- Strong proficiency in Excel, MS Project, Word and PowerPoint;
- Proven leadership and influencing skills;
- Ability to project manage across multiple stakeholders and departments;
- Be a strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to understand and make sense of a variety of different data types and input;
- Maintain a start-up mentality to move the business forward, being resourceful, collaborative and a creative solution-seeker;
- Proven ability to prioritize and work with a sense of urgency.
