ABOUT SAINT LAURENT Founded in 1961, Yves Saint Laurent was the first couture house to introduce the concept of luxury prêt-à-porter in a 1966 collection called ‘Rive Gauche’, synonymous with youth and freedom. This shift represented a first critical step in the modernization of fashion and revolutionized the socio- cultural landscape. In 1999, the luxury goods division of the Kering Group acquired Yves Saint Laurent and, under the creative direction of Anthony Vaccarello since April 2016, continues to position the house at the summit of the luxury universe. Today, Saint Laurent collections include women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, small leather goods, jewelry, scarves, ties and eyewear.

We are currently seeking an Inventory Control Manager who will report to the Controller as part of our dynamic team in Wayne, New Jersey.

ROLE

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for monitoring, supporting, and executing all tasks related to inventory management while developing and implementing inventory control procedures.  This position will cover stock movements across all locations in the Americas Region.

MISSION

  • Create and ensure policies and procedures that guarantee effective inventory controls on all stock activities across all channels and ensure internal compliance to maintain highest level of inventory accuracy within the network
  • Research and identify solutions to improve efficiency or implement new systems to manage stock and enhance inventory controls while establishing best practices
  • Monitor and support with all inventory movements types across retail and wholesale warehouses including but not limited to: Stock Adjustments, Intercompany and Non-I/C Transfers, Returns, Discrepancy resolution, Purchase Orders, Receipts, Consolidations
  • Identify, research, and resolve inventory variances/errors and monitor negative stock on hands
  • Analyze inventory in-transit from factory to distribution center to retail stores and investigate shipping delays
  • Manage Stock in Holding locations
  • Support Loss Prevention department with investigations regarding stock movements
  • Responsible for month end inventory closing procedures, in-transit reconciliations and preparation of sales and margin file for entire Region
  • Packaging order entry
  • Execution of price events and adjustments (including entering, getting proper approval and releasing) across all channels
  • Planning, analyzing, and posting physical inventory results in partnership with Finance, Operations, and Retail teams
  • Develop reporting on inventory metrics to monitor performance
  • Follow-up and support employee sales and outlet store opening staging
  • Create KPIs reporting to analyze and properly track stock and ensure visibility
  • Support with inventory related annual audit inquires
  • Build productive partnerships and collaboration with all stakeholders (Finance, YSL and Group Operations teams and Planning)

PROFILE

  • 5+ years’ experience in inventory, distribution and operational retail roles required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or related field required
  • JDA knowledge and advanced Excel skills required
  • SAP and Microstrategy experience a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish, Portuguese) a plus
  • Must be current on inventory control methods and procedures, as well as applicable federal and state rules and regulations
  • Ability to drive process improvements and develop systemic processes, get results and bring issues to closure, while applying a continuous improvement mindset to all workstreams
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong mathematical and written abilities
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively to department teams across the organization, cross-functional partners and Leadership Team
  • Entrepreneurial approach to assess and proactively improve existing processes with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Team player attitude, willing to go above and beyond at all times
