As the leading benchmark for corporate sustainability, Kering’s high ranking in DJSI’s Textiles, Apparel & Luxury Goods sector was based on its performance across a variety of sustainability criteria, including economic performance, environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and corporate governance.  Highlights included 100% scores for Product Stewardship, Brand Management, Innovation Management, Materiality, Human Capital Development, Environmental Policy & Management Systems, Climate Strategy, and Environmental and Social Reporting.

The DJSI combine S&P DJI’s transparent rules-based index methodology with robust data from SAM’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), an annual evaluation of companies’ sustainability practices. Each year, SAM evaluates more than 7,300 companies around the world whereby 2020 saw a record 19% increase in the number of companies actively completing the CSA which consists of a rigorous questionnaire assessing both public and non-public data submitted by participants.  The DJSI World, for example, is comprised of corporate leaders in global sustainability and represents the top 10% of the largest 2,500 companies in the S&P Global Broad Market Index based on long-term economic and ESG factors.

Kering was also named most sustainable company in Apparel and Accessories in Corporate Knights’ latest 2019 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World index and was part of CDP’s 2020 “Climate A List”, comprised of companies from around the world that were identified as demonstrating a superior approach to climate change mitigation. Kering is also included in the following main SRI indices: FTSE4Good, MSCI, Euronext Vigeo Europe 120 and Euronext Vigeo Eurozone 120.
