Under the creative direction of Sarah Burton, the house produces critically acclaimed collections, driven by unparalleled vision and respect for craftsmanship. Burton was made Head of Design for womenswear in 2000 and was appointed Creative Director in 2010. The luxury brand was founded by Lee Alexander McQueen in 1992. Among the greatest fashion designers of his time, the legacy of his work lives on. 

We are currently looking for an Inclusion and Diversity Director who will report directly to the Chief People Officer and will work in in close collaboration with the CEO and other key stakeholders. This newly created role will be based in our London corporate office with a global scope.

Your opportunity

You will be a champion for I&D, responsible for the I&D Strategy, and building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, to move us on the journey from having identified the pillars of our I&D strategy towards implementing actions to realise our ambition of building a culture of wellbeing and inclusion and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our I&D efforts.

How you will contribute:

  • Build upon existing strategic pillars of the I&D Strategy, in collaboration with the Employee Engagement Strategy, to help implement cultural and systemic change across the organisation that is adapted to regional needs, ensuring you are partnering with the leadership teams.

  • Working transversally across the business with HR partners, I&D Committee, Senior Leadership Team as well as other stakeholders, to navigate all the different needs and opportunities together, and drive us forward.

  • Apply project management approach to have consolidated view of all I&D initiatives: leading projects, or partnering with project leads, to ensure proper roadmaps, measuring and monitoring success and follow up to deliver change and advancement.

  • Build relationships and platforms for consistent dialogue/working partnerships with the I&D Committee and the wider employee population to ensure regular feedback and relevance of strategic plan.

  • Engage the stakeholders by developing and delivering an effective I&D communications and engagement plan.

  • Design and facilitate learning and growth programmes to raise awareness and embed I&D in the company culture.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Expertise in project management, managing medium to large scale projects with multiple stakeholders – you may have for example worked as a PMO for culture change projects, managed roll-out of training / learning projects, supported implementation of HR Information Systems projects or organized large scale employee engagement initiatives.

  • Demonstrate passion for I&D and an understanding of the complexities of the topic, either through past professional experiences or personal engagement/development in this area.

  • You have experience in change management, understanding of the HR function, built either through working directly within HR or closely working with HR teams 

  • An empathetic style: an ability to build trusted relationships and influence behaviour change at all levels of an organisation

  • A compelling storyteller, able to be an I&D ambassador, engaging audiences at all levels of the organisation, mobilising them to feel the possibilities of what they can achieve

  • Ability to drive execution of objectives despite setbacks; Resilient; to work in a flexible and agile way and be comfortable with ambiguity.

  • Strategic thinker with cultural adaptability to work with local teams to influence and impact on a global scale

  • While we do not specify a number of years of experience, it is important to understand that this is not an entry level role. We are looking for an individual with proven experience in implementing large scale projects and can bring their expertise to support the organisation in delivering its I&D Strategy for the coming years.
