Role Mission

The Senior Director, Digital Innovation & New Business Models will be responsible for identifying and executing new business model opportunities that will drive the development and successful growth of the Company.  In addition, this role will be pivotal in managing end to end analysis, planning and project management to ensure the smooth implementation of all initiatives. The Senior Director, Digital Innovation & New Business Models, based in New York, will collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to develop, strategize, and successfully implement business initiatives for the brand. This role will partner closely with and report to the SVP, Digital Business, Client Services & Customer Engagement.

Key Accountabilities

  • Direct and lead the development of new business model opportunities from idea conception to full execution and program management through model life cycle that delivers top-line revenue growth;
  • Build an Innovation team and recruit top talent from the ground up;
  • Drive thought leadership on the evolving business models in the retail space and advocate across the organization on behalf of partners and opportunities;
  • Review analyses of complex financial information and approve timely and accurate financial recommendations in partnership with senior leaders;
  • Engage with external business and industry experts as required to learn and influence business strategies, remaining forward thinking about opportunities and risks in the broader industry;
  • Leverage existing relationships and develop further effective relationships with key external partners and stakeholders to grow internal network;
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of external partner relationships with a focus on growth activities;
  • Work cross-functionally across business, product, operations, and other parts of the organization to develop and execute business strategy;
  • Drive thinking on key business metrics for partnerships, taking responsibility for mobilizing partners and internal resources to execute to meet objectives;
  • Direct teams to provide a strong customer-focused, data driven approach to unlock new insights, drive innovation and create value;
  • Analyze financial performance, highlight trends across key performance indicators and any substantial variances to understand the underlying causes to strategize and execute solutions for improvement ;
  • Participate in the budget/forecast process for personnel costs;
  • Present strategy documents, quarterly business reviews, and executive presentations;
  • Monitor market research compiled to better understand the current competitive landscape and keep up to date of the latest trends;
  • Provide constant visibility to senior leadership team to mitigate risks, resolve issues, and ensure decisions are executed.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field required;
  • 8 to10 years of management experience;
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial success in advancing and growing businesses either independently /or have successfully incubated, scaled and launched a variety of business models within an organization;
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges;
  • Strong financial acumen, ability to build and manage P&L
  • Ability to build and convey compelling value propositions;
  • A strong entrepreneurial background in managing complex end-to-end projects, with a track record of embedding them successfully across multiple geographies;
  • A proven track record of developing actionable and profitable strategies that also drive business growth and brand equity;
  • Ability to frame new, ambiguous and complex issues and distill them into digestible concepts;
  • Project manager experience managing multiple work streams in a fast-paced and challenging environment;
  • Must be able to shift priorities to meet rapidly evolving business needs;
  • Strong hands-on understanding of the apparel retail / luxury retail landscape as well as a passion for progressive and innovative retail practices, process, formats;
  • Self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and nimble with a solution orientated mindset (i.e. “no task to small” mentality);
  • Deep consumer understanding and curiosity with an insight led approach to brand building and innovation;
  • Has a holistic understanding of how different functions interact, a 360-business view of the business;
  • Strong analytical capabilities paired with a strong ability to generate insights;
  • Ability to motivate and manage multiple team members and cross functional stakeholders;
  • Active human leadership and communication skills with high emotional quotient;
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving attitude;
  • Expert in spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint;
  • Strong ability to develop compelling, provocative and aesthetically appealing PowerPoint or Keynote decks.
