Role Mission

The Senior Manager of Strategic Planning will drive the planning activities for the Company ensuring that forecasts accurately reflect sales potential within the competitive landscape. Through rigorous analysis, this role will synthesize both qualitative market feedback and quantitative data to support the business in reaching its full potential. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop detailed sales projections for diverse audiences;

  • Reflect the nuances of our Retail, Outlet and eCommerce network in plans and recaps;

  • Development of category plans in partnership with the Merchandising Managers;

  • Communicate the impact of calendar shifts and non-recurring events on sales;

  • Analyze and summarize spend vs. OTB and ensure alignment with sales goals;

  • Track and communicate performance vs. targets;

  • Perform complex analysis to plan non-financial retail metrics;

  • Provide primary review of reporting prepared by analyst and prepare reporting as needed;

  • Summarize detailed performance data to highlight key themes;

  • Quantify business impact of evolving distribution network;

  • Additional projects and assignments as needed.

Key Requirements

  • A BA in Business, Finance, Economics or otherwise with a strong quantitative focus;

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an analytical, strategic role;

  • Planning, merchandising, or allocation experience would be ideal;

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to create clear and accurate written communications;

  • Self-motivation and diligence to ensure completion of projects with cross-functional dependencies;

  • The ability to prioritize, multitask and handle multiple requests with varying degrees of priority simultaneously;

  • Excellent people skills, capacity to effectively interact with peers and superiors of different backgrounds;

  • Ability to work effectively in a team, developing a respectful and pleasant, yet committed and efficient environment;

  • Excellent organizational skills, time management skills and work ethic;

  • Experience working in a fast paced, very dynamic environment;

  • Knowledge of merchandising math & retail metrics;

  • Expert Excel and PowerPoint skills;

  • Strong quantitative and modeling skills coupled with the ability to analyze wide, complex arrays of data;

  • Awareness of competitive landscape;

  • Experience with Micro Strategy a plus, but not required.
