Role Mission

The Manger of Special Events - Wholesale, Timepieces & Jewelry, is responsible for collaborating on the strategy development and managing the execution of events and various clienteling initiatives for the Gucci brand within the wholesale and leased channel.  The markets for Gucci are North America and for Timepieces and Jewelry, North America, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate on the strategic development and lead the management of special event initiatives in the region for the Wholesale and Leased channels that support the business development and image goals of company;
  • Liaise with local and worldwide Special Events teams to appropriately integrate wholesale initiatives, such as image and retail driven events and local clienteling activations, into the overall regional and global strategy ensuring brand consistency;
  • Partner closely with the Gucci America Wholesale, Gucci Group Watches (GGW), Coty and Kering Eyewear teams to maximize important initiatives that further raise the visibility of the brand;
  • Communicate frequently with retail partners to sustain relationships, understand internal strategy and action initiatives;
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing and Communications, Special Events and Consumer Management to maximize event opportunities such as client development, acquisition and retention strategies, activity reporting, and press opportunities;
  • Develop and manage all local clienteling efforts including charitable initiatives and organic selling activities;
  • Develop and manage execution of GGW trade events including Couture Show and annual Basel Preview;  
  • Manage production of corporate collateral assets with worldwide team that support all event related efforts;
  • Work with Director of Marketing & Communications, Gucci America wholesale and GGW to allocate and manage yearly budgets and reconcile all special event expenses with established budgets;
  • Develop post-event reporting highlighting ROI and analytics to share with executive and worldwide teams.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an events related position;
  • Experience working for or with a retailer or wholesaler;
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word; Excel; PowerPoint: Outlook; Adobe Acrobat;
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship--building skills;
  • Appreciation and understanding of the luxury fashion industry;
  • Strong written and verbal skills;
  • Detail-oriented;
  • Positive and focused professional team player;
  • Travel within the US and Canada.
