ROLE MISSION                                          

The role of the Head of Special Events is to create the strategy and vision for all brand event programs, including large-scale annualized image events, store opening events, scaled retail events/pop-ups and special brand experiences in North America. The leader is responsible for cultivating the end-to-end experience in close collaboration with PR, Entertainment Relations, Influencer Relations, and more to ensure that all events ladder to global brand image goals and business growth objectives.


  • Own the strategic execution of all brand events, from concepting to post-event amplification and results reporting--set KPIs, goals and any other metrics of success that will leverage learnings and enable optimizations for the future;

  • Operate with a city-first mindset, strategizing event programs around key business priorities in priority markets, as part of 360 plan development;

  • Collaborate with Integrated Marketing, Public Relations, Client Events, Merchandising, eCommerce and Retail Teams to connect product marketing and store opening calendar through event opportunities;

  • Partner with Influencer Relations and Partnerships team to bring to life donations programs that support image and client development efforts throughout the store network;

  • Organize the operating cadence of sharing regular check-ins on development of projects, up the Executive level; create a highly organized and effective operating cadence to enable the team to make quick decisions and act nimbly in response to new opportunities;

  • Oversee the development of communication tools and digital tools/platforms to improve the exchange of information across the store network and to increase efficiency of all activities;

  • Strategize closely with the GAI Client Engagement team on retail event initiatives to ensure effective targeting strategies for all events and promotions, connection to brand image goals and to record accurate results for reporting to the Executive Management team;

  • Manage GAI Special Events budgets ensuring effective spending and accountability;

  • Partner with WW Entertainment Industry Relations team to leverage celebrity affiliations for potential event concepts such as film premieres or award season/industry events to reinforce brand image through VIP testimonials;

  • Own direct relationships with the agency partners and vendors to ensure optimal service and results, always keeping a pulse on competitive activity and building a network of new partners to work with;

  • Lead, mentor and develop the Special Events team, including considering the right organization structure/functional pillars to set the team up for success and personal growth.


  • College Degree;

  • Minimum of 12-15 years experience in PR/event production within the luxury industry with a proven track record of success across large scale, recognizable event programs, as well as retail executions;

  • Excellent relationships with top industry relationships/partners;

  • Experience with retail/wholesale business preferably within a fashion or consumer goods environment;

  • Experienced in working in a multi-national business with the ability to work collaboratively with group functions;

  • Exceptional analytical, written and oral communication, strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills;

  • Must be able to work effectively both independently and as a member of the team, in a demanding, fast-paced, global environment prioritizing multiple tasks and projects concurrently while maintaining high standards and attention to detail;

  • Able to translate vision into a full organized executional plan with key milestones and goals;

  • Strong communication skills that drive negotiations, management of partners, and internal alignment;

  • Exceptional attention to detail and craft;

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word; Excel; PowerPoint: Outlook; Fashion GPS;

  • Deep understanding, knowledge and interest in fashion, culture and art;
