We are currently seeking a Junior Sustainability Analyst to join the sustainability team at Alexander McQueen. The role will be based in our central London office, directly reporting to Sustainability Manager, as part of the sustainability team working under the direction of Director of Strategic Projects & Transformation.
Working in a small team, you would have the opportunity to help support the sustainability agenda within the house. Kering and Alexander McQueen have embarked on an ambitious journey to craft sustainable luxury and as Junior Sustainability Analyst, you will have the opportunity to be part of a team that is working on key topics such as: circular economy, sustainable sourcing and traceability, and biodiversity. You will be required to effectively support the team through data collection and analysis, project execution and tracking, and other ad hoc tasks. This will require precision, attention to detail, responsibility, excellent communication and analytical skills, and strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
How you will contribute
Reporting and compliance
Support environmental reporting requirements of the team, including data collection for the annual environmental report and the Environmental Profit and Loss (“EPL”) account, and help Sustainability Manager to provide information to the Kering Group in a timely manner.
Ensure accurate collection and consolidation of all data (required through the environmental or EPL reporting or social compliance auditing), by analysing and comparing results with previous reporting periods.
Liaise with various business units, relevant stakeholders, and external suppliers to gather key information and monitor progress.
Support ad hoc requests for data and information regarding sourcing for supply chain, or analysis of sustainability impact of events (e.g. fashion shows/shoots) - including collection and organization of data in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
Project execution and tracking
Support various projects related to Alexander McQueen’s sustainability strategy (for circular economy and sustainable sourcing), through project tracking and execution of related tasks under supervision of Sustainability Manager, which include:
Assist the team and various business units with the verification and tracking of sustainable materials, including collection / verification of certificates from suppliers.
Support execution of due diligence of various sustainable material claims, including tracking due diligence results and research output.
Maintain database of sustainable material certifications received, and support tracking and organization of data related to sustainable material verification.
Organizational, administrative tasks to support sustainability team, including helping to support scheduling of meetings with various stakeholders and collaborators, organization of team shared drive and documents.
Responsible for becoming familiar with all sustainability guidelines and sourcing guidelines and EPL analysis of Alexander McQueen and Kering.
Your Skills and Experience:
Bachelor of Science degree (engineering, environmental sciences, economics).
Master's Degree in relevant field is a plus.
Previous experience within a responsible sourcing / sustainability role is helpful.
Knowledge of sustainability certifications, and related audit / industrial auditing processes.
Experience in working with large datasets, including general knowledge of data management systems, and extremely well versed in Microsoft Excel.
Experience in data assurance would be advantageous.
Very well organized, proactive, strong attention to detail and precision to follow through, plan and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
Strong communication skills (especially with respect to representing the brand when coordinating data collection from external sources), and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Fluency or very advanced level in Italian preferred.
