Women’s Shoes Collection and Retail Merchandising Senior Manager

Role Mission As part of the Global Merchandising Department, you will be responsible of the Women’s Shoes category, directly reporting to the Shoe’s Merchandising Director. The main mission of the role is to oversee the Collection and Retail Merchandising, becoming the reference point for Women’s Shoes category for WW stakeholders and regional merchandising teams and ensuring a proper translation of HQ key messages into regional structures. You will lead a dynamic and passionate team and be in constant interaction with different departments, such as Product Development, Regional Merchandising, Design and production.

Key Accountabilities

Collection Merchandising

Leading the Collection Merchandising team, you will define the collection structure and guarantee the correct product mix and related price positioning overseeing the following activities:

  • Liaise with Design team in the study of new collections, searching for new themes, materials, colors as part of the Brief and Guidelines
  • Guarantee a detailed sales analysis for all types of products in relation to all the useful parameters for setting up the collection in order to support the Design team in all phases of setting up the collection
  • Ensure the development of the supporting materials (training manuals and presentations with detailed product information on each collection) for regional merchandising teams
  • Market and competitor's analysis in terms of product and pricing positioning in the different markets
  • Preparation of merchandising plans to define the new collections’ structure and requests that will be discussed with the Design team
  • Carry out price analyzes in order to identify the positioning of the product in relation to similar types of Competitors
  • Participate in the definition of communication strategies, in order to fully integrate the spirit and positioning of the product in the drafting of the communication concept for all advertising campaigns
  • Participate in the presentation of the new collection projects to the Commercial Area Structures, providing the interpretative key and the spirit of the collection and indications on the marketability of products and related product categories

Retail Merchandising

Leading the Retail Merchandising team, you will be responsible to monitor the business performance of the Women’s Shoes category, being constantly up to date and informed on the market changes and client needs, you will take decisions that will maximize our sales performance, overseeing the following activities:

  • Market Intelligence: consolidate inputs from the regions and channels on business trends, competitors offer, and products’ needs
  • Buying activities: define Master Orders ensuring a balanced global product mix, aligning with the key seasonal messages and core product selection
  • Inventory activities: ensure optimization of stock level across regions and channels to maximize sales; analyze selling trends defining actions on reorders or cancellations; constantly monitor monthly supply and slow movers
  • Sales Activities: constant collaboration with regional merchandising teams to gather product feedback and market needs in order to always being up to date on markets and exploit business opportunities; based on qualitative analysis, coordinate with Visual Merchandising for ensuring a proper merchandise relocation

Key Requirements

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role in the luxury/fashion industry
  • Educational background preferably in business management or similar
  • Strong product sensitivity and passion for Women’s Shoes categories
  • Sound knowledge of the current market and consumer trends
  • Sound analytical skills and critical thinking
  • Commercial awareness and strong business acumen
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passionate about exceeding corporate goals, driving business results and going the extra mile in the daily work

  • Comfortable meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities
