We are currently seeking a Finance Assistant (Inventory Control) to join our dynamic team in our Sydney Head Office. Reporting to the Senior Inventory Controller you will play a key role in a dynamic team.

Your opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Inventory Controller this position is responsible for supporting the Senior Inventory Controller – Australia and New Zealand in managing all inventory-related issues across retail and wholesale vendors across Australia and New Zealand.

This position is also responsible for supporting inventory-related activities, daily (both inbound and outbound in a timely manner. Tracking of the end-to-end flow of Intercompany Transfers and Returns, following up on any outstanding claims (warehouse/suppliers), performing and tracking stock adjustments and price event-related updates, monitoring weekly cycle counts and supporting bi-annual stocktakes.

How you will contribute

Inventory Activity

  • Responsible for entering all data entry and invoicing into relevant systems for store inventory orders and liaising with the warehouse to ensure a timely and accurate flow (inbound and outbound)
  • Understand and perform all inventory-related activities strictly according to group policy;
  • Ensure completion of all data entry of inventory orders accurately to the system and complete all processes required when receiving shipments.
  • Monitor all inventory discrepancies and ensure they are reconciled in systems as appropriate.
  • Liaise and collaborate with the vendors (internal and external) surrounding planning, merchandising, sores and third-party warehouse to ensure the accuracy of investigation on any stock discrepancy, reporting these to all channels is required.  
  • Perform weekly stock reconciliation for warehouse locations and coordinate with internal and external parties accordingly.


  • Perform write-offs, adhere to Kering and Gucci policy, once credit notes are issued for the return of stock
  • Support periodic stock-take with a thorough investigation of the discrepancies and report the results, seeking support from your direct manager as required
  • Coordinate and execute end-to-end steps for price events
  • Be solution orientated and actively resolve all inventory issues in a timely manner, after presenting the solution to your direct manager
  • Generate and create inventory reports including analysis and commentary as required
  • Provide support in reporting on EOY inventory level, weekly cycle counts and other ad-hoc reports as required.

Workplace Health and Safety

  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) strategies, including driving health and safety practices and ensuring the Gucci Workplace Health and Safety policy and standards are upheld and executed consistently.
  • Report all hazards, incidents and near misses as outlined in the procedure immediately
  • Complete all tasks safely, reporting any unsafe environment and practices immediately


  • Comply with Gucci and Kering policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Complete all other reporting as required
  • Attend and complete all relevant training as required
  • All other ad hoc duties as required by your manager

Who you are


  • Studies in Business / Logistics is desirable, preferably within a multinational environment within luxury goods, FMCG, trading or the retail sector

Work experience

  • Previously experience working within inventory control   
  • Previous experience using large ERP systems such as JD Edwards, SAP, JDA
