We are currently seeking a Merchandising Manager to join our dynamic team in our Sydney head office.

Your opportunity

Reporting functionally to the General Manager for Australia & New Zealand and leading a team of Merchandisers/Buyers, Sales & Inventory planners, Visual Merchandisers.

You will act as a team player and work collaboratively with all GUCCI employees and stakeholders to achieve exceptional results.

How you will contribute

  • To achieve the budget sales and monitor sales performance, stock level, delivery status to ensure an effective stock inventory in coordination with sales and inventory planners

  • To maximize the launch of the new collection (product training, stock monitoring), and elaborate strategies to boost the sell-through throughout each season (stock rebalancing, incentive, product focus, cross selling proposal)

  •  To ensure an optimal assortment and product mix in each store to meet customer demands and explore potential new sales opportunities

  • To work closely with Regional teams to define the merchandise selection by store during the showroom in Italy in accordance with Corporate directions and ensure an optimized range plan

  • To regularly visit stores to identify business opportunities, review merchandising plans, and review store environment and competitors

  •  To partner and work closely with stores to review sales performance and elaborate action plans to ensure the Merchandising strategies are implemented

  • To act as a support for stores during events in collaboration with Consumer Management

  • To work with Visual merchandisers to ensure Visual Merchandising guidelines are implemented, and propose actions adapted to both brand image and business needs

  •  To partner with Consumer Management, Visual Merchandising, Retail Departments, Communications to align merchandising, clientelling and sales strategies

  • To report regularly to General Management for sales performance, inventory situations and merchandising actions

Who you are

Work experience

  • Degree in business or relevant subject and working experience in Merchandising  

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally from a high-volume retail or service-based industry preferably in the luxury environment

Other skills and abilities

  • Proven ability to work in highly pressured roles and situations

  • Customer service orientated attitude, driven by meeting and exceeding KPIs and targets

  • Ability to work dynamically in a high-volume environment

  • Time management and prioritizing skills

  • Ability to be flexible and agile to meet business needs

  • High attention to detail and a strong, professional work ethic

  • Strong leadership and management skills used to lead, grow, and develop the team by example

  • Proficiency in using technology and/or learning about updated technologies

  • Proficiency in Outlook/Excel/Word/PowerPoint

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
