Role Mission

Reporting to the Merchandising Director, South Asia & Pacific, the successful candidate will be a key contributor in driving the Region’s business growth by leading and developing annual sales plans working cross functionally with Merchandising, Retail, and Finance.

The successful candidate will cast a strong link with Regional Finance to lead the budget, forecast and planning activities for the Region. Key responsibilities will include driving the sales planning function, control of merchandise management according to target figures, merchandise planning and Open-To-Buy management.

Key Accountabilities

  • Drive all budgeting, sales planning, and merchandising plan activities, including the yearly budgeting process, seasonal financial plans and forecasts by store by category, seasonal receipts and inventory levels comparing actual vs budget
  • Collaboration with teams on promotional and events sales forecasts
  • Prepare sales projections to support Corporate in generating Open-To-Buy plans to be used in the development of seasonal merchandising strategy
  • Monitor Open-To-Buy budget and negotiate the changes between Corporate and Regional teams
  • Running and studying quantitative analyses, including weekly / monthly reports, merchandising analysis to monitor Key Performance Indicators (i.e. sell throughs, price ranges, sales by line, etc.)
  • In collaboration with Country hubs, develop and track monthly sales forecasts and retail KPI targets
  • Utilise information system to provide essential analysis in order to identify and maximise sales and profit opportunities
  • Highlight any opportunities or shortfalls and make recommendations for future needs
  • Develop simulation templates to cater to planning needs

Key Requirements

  • Degree / Diploma in Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, Mathematics or Statistics (i.e. strong quantitative focus) desired
  • Minimum 5 years of OTB planning experience preferred; experience of accounting function or inventory control in retail industry is an advantage
  • 3 years’ experience in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of retail inventory and financial measures (sell-throughs, weeks of supply, inventory turns, etc.)
  • Detailed oriented, high accuracy, good numeric sense and energised by multi-tasking
  • Proficient in MS Office and strong in Excel
  • Good communication, collaboration, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Mature in attitude, organised, self-motivated and an energetic team player
