Among the greatest fashion designers of his time, the legacy of his work lives on.

We are currently seeking a Financial Controller who will report to the Finance Director and be part of our dynamic Finance team. 

Your Opportunity:

The Financial Controller will manage and be responsible for all financial (as listed but not limited to the below) aspects of the Retail and e-commerce function of Alexander McQueen. The role will sit within the HO Finance function reporting to the Finance Director and provide business partnering to the Retail Operation team, E-commerce team, CRM team and Store Planning.

Retail P&L

  • Monthly review of all store P&L’s by region, investigating any variances with regional controllers and retail managers

  • Responsible for all budgeting and forecasting of store P&L’s with regional controllers and retail managers

  • Monthly reviews of sales and costs with regional retail teams

  • Specific focus on comparability of stores in all reporting.

  • Working closely with store operations to ensure all costs are managed within budgets

  • Analysis of retail KPI’s

Margin and Inventory analysis

  • Monthly markdown provision and margin reconciliation by channel and by product

  • Ensure FTM tool is updated each month and reconcile margin back to

  • Review sales and margin files for accuracy

  • Work with Inventory control to create a monthly report for closing inventory by nature (FP, MD, Carry over etc)

  • Manage all reports requested by Kering relating to margin and inventory.


  • Work closely with Store Planning teams to ensure all estimates are received timeously and are accurate and in with budgets

  • Approving Capex invoices for payments

  • Maintain a clear working file of all projects (DOS, Franchise and SiS) detailing budgets and current costs highlighting any variances to budget.

  • Liaising with regional controllers to ensure budgets are communicated and costs are booked correctly

Store Database

  • Maintain the Store Database ensuring accuracy of information

  • Updating any events through Store DB actual, budget and forecast

  • Maintaining and updating all lease information relating to stores ensuring alignment of IFRS16


  • Manage all CRM and retail benchmark reporting to Kering as well as oversee reporting of retail sales

  • Managing relations with Franchise Partners, raising invoices and chasing outstanding invoices (Capex, contributions, marketing)

  • Oversee Bespoke function

  • Perform ad hoc retail reports and analysis

  • Manage the closing and budgeting of all Retail and regional entities

  • Any other ad hoc duties as requested

Your Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or similar field of study

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

  • Fashion Retail and Wholesale experience preferred

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Advanced Excel skills a must

  • Hyperion HFM and SAP experience preferred
