We are currently seeking an Italian Speaking Logistics Manager to support the Corporate Office & Stores with Logistics & Manage a small Post Room & Logistics Team.

How you will contribute?

  • Working with courier suppliers, clearance brokers and freight forwarders to ensure timely deliveries and shipment paperwork and documentation is correctly prepared.

  • Have a clear understanding of business workflows and collection deliveries, oversee and support all logistics activities.

  • Manage the logistics of shipping store planning furniture and materials to stores in the UK and across the world.

  • Ability to proactively build strong relationships with the logistics teams in Italy to improve shipment processes and collaboration.

  • Ensure swift and efficient flow of goods between Italian factories and London head office.

  • Work alongside the Milan showroom team to ensure the successful completion of all shipment paperwork, oversee packing the collection and manage the entire delivery process to the showroom.

  • Liaise with collection managers to prioritise all logistics activities.

  • Advise internal stakeholders on the best and most cost-effective way to ship goods. 

  • Measure the performance of service providers and conduct review meetings.

  • Working with Kering Procurement to negotiate new contracts with existing and new suppliers to reduce costs / improve services.

  • Working with the Finance team to ensure costs are controlled within budget and overspend is documented.

  • Budget control and cost analysis, identifying areas of cost efficiency.

  • Use courier performance data to carryout business reporting.

  • Identify transportation network and carrier risks and implement mitigation plans (e.g., peak season planning)

  • Overseeing the preparation and processing of paperwork for shipments; including despatch notes, commercial invoices, customs licences, and other legal documentation.

  • Management of all shipment issues, problems, and delays.

  • Reporting progress on all shipments.

  • Managing and training the post room team ensuring new customs and shipment procedures and followed.

  • Working closely with our Head of Operations and Facilities to improve departmental systems.

  • Supporting the Head of Operations and Facilities with long term strategy planning.

Who You Are?

  • Spoken and written Italian language is essential

  • ​Advanced Excel skills

  • 3 years+ experience as a Senior Logistics Manager in a fast paced, high growth environment.

  • Previous export experience (3-5 years minimum)

  • Strong understanding of customs processes and documentation post Brexit specifically for shipping items to and from Italy.

  • Experience of shipping goods with carnet documentation.

  • Proven capabilities in evaluating operational gaps/ weaknesses in protocols

  • Previous people management experience

  • Understanding of Logistics tech systems to be able to engage with internal stakeholders

  • Accustomed to working in a company with changing circumstances and where prioritisation is required.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and able to communicate with all levels in the business and external carriers

  • A self-starter, comfortable working independently, able to multitask, organise, prioritize workload, and meet strict deadlines

  • Highly organized with a sharp eye for detail is a must, together with handling a wide range of data.

  • A clear demonstrable track record of improving courier final mile performance.

  • Contactable out of hours for early morning, evening and weekend shipments if required.
