BALENCIAGA – Intern Global Direct Marketing and Lifecycle – January 2022 (F/M) About us Cristóbal Balenciaga founded the House in 1917 in his home of Spain. In 1937, he established the brand in Paris, designing its collections there until 1968. Cristóbal Balenciaga had a reputation as a couturier of uncompromising standards and was referred to as "the master of us all" by Christian Dior and as “The Couturier of the Couturiers” by Gabrielle Chanel. The ultra-modern shapes were trademarks of the house. While the brand’s identity is firmly rooted in its highly conceptual prêt-à-porter collections, its leather goods, footwear, and accessories experience worldwide success as well. Among the archetypal products of the House are its handbag collections. A new focus on the development of Balenciaga ready-to-wear collections for men was quickly established as highly successful. Since October 2015, Demna Gvasalia has designed both men’s and women’s collections as the artistic director. The Balenciaga House, part of the Kering group since 2001, is one of the most influential names in fashion.

Your opportunity

Within the Global Client Engagement department, reporting to the Global CRM Campaign Coordinator, you will help in developing the global Client Engagement strategy by designing, deploying and constantly improving Direct Marketing channels, Lifecycle programs and Clienteling tools in order to recruit new clients and upgrade the existing ones.

How you will contribute

  • Collaborate with regional Client Engagement teams to drive client retention at a global level
  • Support the Direct Marketing, make sure it is in line with Balenciaga DNA
  • Develop Lifecycle and Clienteling processes, guidelines and tools to improve client satisfaction, experience and engagement


Interacting constantly with Merchandising, Digital, Image, Ecommerce and Product departments, in order to:

  • Support the definition and update of the Direct Marketing channels calendar in line with the Global Marketing Calendar
  • Coordinate from the strategy to the delivery the WW Direct Marketing campaigns together with the external agency, the translation agency and the local teams by liaising with the adequate Balenciaga stakeholders at HQ level
  • Collect feedback and consolidate Local requests from regions, and Global requests from HQ
  • Define client targets in line with the criteria shared by HQ or target files provided by the regions
  • Run post-deployment analysis
  • Support benchmarking activities


  • Help in translating the Client Engagement strategy into Lifecycle programs in line with local specificities, events, actions
  • Coordinate with Image department for the assets
  • Gather regional needs and evaluate what is doable from a client as well as a brand image perspective
  • Ensure the flawless execution of client journeys
  • Help in defining the Lifecycle programs targets and in monitoring the impact of the actions in terms of client engagement and ROI  
  • Provide qualitative feedback and improvement solutions


  • Support in the Single Task Journeys implementation
  • Collect local requests, prepare briefs and liaise with the agency and the regions to test, and delivery of the tasks
  • Prepare Single Tasks Journeys for pushes following the Global Marketing Calendar
  • Update and implementation of the Newsletters present in the Complex Journeys
  • Help in building Product catalogues for clients

Who you are

  • Very high attention to details
  • Well organized and flexible, able to deal with last minute requests
  • Proactive, Reactive and Curious
  • Quick learner in an intercultural context
  • Ability to work in a fast international environment, sometimes under pressure on tight schedule and adapting to different requests (prioritize + flexibility)
  • Good understanding of luxury industry
  • Previous experience in campaign management, digital or Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a plus
  • Fluent in English and advanced computer skills
