Role mission
As part of the Gucci team in our Bond street Flagship store you will be a Tailor and expert focusing on the Menswear collection. As a Tailor, you will have responsibility for the detail and quality of the alteration of GUCCI garments, working with delicate and high fashion designs and creations. Key Accountabilities
- Develop and adapt designs for our garments
- Complete alterations both by needle and thread or with a sewing machine
- Liaise with clients to draw and alter individual pattern to fit customer's measurements and garment style
- Sew buttons and buttonholes when required
- Position pattern of garment on fabric, and cuts fabric along outlines, using scissors
- Measure customer for size, using tape measure and records measurements
- Fit basted garment on customer and mark alterations
Key Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Seamstress, Tailor or Alterations Specialist for luxury high-end retailer or contemporary brand
- Strong knowledge of fitting of garments on VIP clients
- Deep understanding of all materials / fabrics, along with experience conducting alterations and amendments on complex garments
- Fast paced and well organised
- Fluency in English, other languages will be considered a plus
