Role Mission

                                            

The Senior Manager, Digital Merchandising will lead the launch of all products for Gucci.com within the Americas region to reach full potential in each category. Responsibilities also include communicating a consistent brand and product story to our clients.  The Senior Manager, Digital Merchandising will be part of regional Digital team, reporting directly to the regional Vice President, Digital. 

Key Accountabilities

Assortment Planning

  • Ensure product assortment is aligned with directly operated stores (DOS), and the seasonal collection buy investment supports the full business potential;
  • In preparation for market, analyze product and client performance to identify business opportunities and needs across all categories;
  • Participate in all categories in-depth presentation, alignment meetings, reviews, and final selection;
  • Work with category merchandising managers in defining the digital assortment, ensure the digital client, trends, key shopping moments, and analysis of historical sales performance;
  • Partner closely with DOS merchandising teams to align on trends, key category needs, historical selling, hero products, etc. and ensure all needs are voiced and the buy supports business growth goals;
  • Review each SKU depth and breadth to ensure there is a strong digital presentation within each subcategory and complete cross-category themes;
  • Develop and negotiate open-to-Buy (OTB) with supply chain and regional merchandising team;
  • Participate in two buying sessions annually –market prep, OTB review, and review with regional team;
  • Define the omni-channel assortment with retail team;
  • Support in defining carry over assortment and monthly forecasting/replenishment.

Site Merchandising & Content

  • Optimize categorization, navigation, and on-site search regularly, based on trending key words, product trends, and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) recommendations;
  • Brief global content team to improve product detail pages (PDPs), landing pages, and content to create seamless shopping experiences;
  • Lead team in all launches, collaborating with the global team in fine tuning site experiences and content to ensure the best customer experience;
  • Oversee team in product quality assurance and effectively manage the flow of product for monthly product launch calendar;
  • Manage weekly product activations and proactively manage activation of omni assortment styles;
  • Communicate with Operations, Sales, and Customer Service teams with regards to site, product, and promotion updates;
  • Use data to translate business needs/strategy into a relevant customer experience development, leading to concrete user experience (UX) and site experience, content, and technical requirements;
  • Lead, manage, and execute tasks required to maintain the site, including promotions, site content updates, merchandising and product setup ensuring that functionality meets and exceeds company expectations;
  • Conduct ongoing competitive and benchmark analysis, monitor industry benchmarks, trends, and best practices;
  • Continuously strive to better understand customer behavior and gain actionable insights to inform marketing and site enhancements.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Analyze all product performance to identify opportunities and strategize areas to grow;
  • Monitor sales trends to forecast replenishment inventory plans;
  • Partner with supply chain to ensure adequate stock levels throughout the season, and to expedite stock for backorders and peak season.

Cross Company Collaboration

  • Lead cross-functional partners in 360 products kick off meetings to provide direction on merchandising strategy, and unify teams toward a common goal of digital growth;
  • Liaise with regional merchandising and content teams to develop regional sizzle moments in addition to key branding moments;
  • Partner with central content and product teams to improve on-site experience and features using test and learn approach;
  • Present product training to Gucci 9 Hudson (Client Services Division) bi-weekly and provide ongoing support to client advisors;
  • Partner with Brand Engagement/Marcom teams to ensure merchandising objectives are supported by marketing tactics;
  • Leverage key investment strategy and product launches to partner with marketing and Ecard team on key initiatives;
  • Conduct ongoing competitive and benchmark analysis, translate into product development and site enhancements to influence in-season optimization and future season strategies.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in related field;
  • 6+ years of eCommerce, category management, site merchandising, and/or digital marketing experience;
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret extensive data to make actionable recommendations;
  • Attention to detail and able to manage across multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the target customer and of product trends;
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and creative problem solving;
