Your opportunity
Within the Kering Sustainability Department, the Head of Sustainable Operations with the team, has the mission to ensure that the Kering Sustainability Strategy and Commitment are deployed and fully implemented along all Brands’ supply chains and product categories.
He/She has the accountability to organize and lead teams and develop effective programs in order to translate the strategy into concreate achievements, embedding the different needs and expectations of the Brands, the Corporate and external stakeholders.
This function provides operational consultancy and support to the Brands and monitors strong and robust data collection processes from the Houses, the suppliers and sub-suppliers.
The role is conceived to be the “trait d’union” between the Group and its suppliers on specific aspects that are managed at Group level, with the objective of coordinating and synergizing Brands’ activities towards their value chains with a production-lifecycle approach. To deliver properly, the head of sustainable operations is in his/her mission a knowledgeable and recognized partner with Brands and the Industries to propose efficient and innovative ways of overcoming “challenges”, to support Kering in keeping a leadership position in Sustainability.
The role is in charge of ensuring that Kering WW owned operations and Kering sites in Italy are designed, built and operated according to the Kering Sustainability Principles, reflecting all aspects of the Group Sustainability Strategy from animal welfare to environmental performance, chemical management, GHG reduction, etc.
How you will contribute
Operationalizing Kering Standards in the supply chains:
Drive the advancement of Kering’s sustainability strategy in the different supply chains, leading the implementation and promoting the use of the Kering Vendor Portal Sustainability layer with Brands and suppliers
Supporting with the best methodology different data collection campaigns in the value chains. Deliver reporting, analysis and prioritized action plans in order to overcome blocking points to the implementation of the objectives of the Sustainability Strategy and to bring suppliers to align with Kering Standards on Raw Materials and Processes
Develop with Brands a consistent methodology of rating suppliers on their sustainability achievements. Implement a robust Sustainability Vendor Rating System in the Vendor Portal, to support Brands and suppliers in reaching their sustainability objectives
Consolidate Brands’ spent data twice a year to report on advancement of the different programs internally and externally, in URD and other ESG reporting. Develop and be responsible for the calculation methodology of different KPI’s (e.g., strategic suppliers)
Identify, participate or create where necessary multi-stakeholders’ groups and projects with the broader industry and Kering peers to accelerate sustainability transition
Metal free leather :
Lead and contribute to the Brands’ teams to achieve the Group target of 100% Metal free by 2025
Animal welfare:
Develop and run the Animal Welfare Monitoring Program, agreeing with Brands and Corporate contents and governance
Chemical Management Program:
Run a central program with the aim of eliminating all hazardous chemicals from production and manufacturing processes in Kering Brands supply chains, liaising with Brands, suppliers, industry associations, Kering peers within ZDHC and external stakeholders
Water Stewardship Program:
Lead the K-Water Stewardship Program with Corporate and Brands in order to bring K-supply chains to excellence in terms of water usage and discharge, defining objectives and monitoring advancement through KPI’s
Who you are
Experienced in sustainable operations, ideally with an engineering or technical background
Knowledgeable about the textile and leather goods value chain and its challenges
Sensible to sustainability and environmental topics
Able to work in a highly matrixed environment, adapting to cultural differences
Capable of driving various initiatives and programs simultaneously
Excellent communication and presentation skills, combined with a logical and analytical mindset
Strong management skills, and the ability to lead and motivate your team
Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken
Willing to be based in Florence, Italy
