Kering extends its sincere congratulations to Diane Kruger who was presented with the Best Actress Prize for her powerful interpretation of a woman grieving and seeking revenge after having lost her beloved son and husband in In the fade, by Fatih Akin.

For Diane Kruger, everything started here, at the Festival de Cannes, where she is being crowned today.

On 24 May, upon the first day of her arrival at the Festival, Diane Kruger did us the honour of participating in a Women in Motion Talk where she advocated with sincere words and an insightful eye women’s role in cinema.

The women in the Festival selection stood out in the Palmares, with Sofia Coppola who was awarded Best Director for The Beguiled and have thus entered History as the second woman to win this Prize in Cannes, after the Russian director and actress Yuliya Solntseva in 1961 for her Chronicle of Flaming Years. In a speech read by another director, Maren Ade, she thanked Jane Campion, her model, an inspiration for the female directors – the only one to have ever won the Palme d’Or.

Lynne Ramsay has won Best scenario for You were never really here, ex aequo with Yorgos Lanthimos.

The Caméra d’Or presented by Sandrine Kiberlain went to Léonor Serraille for her first movie, Jeune femme.

Not to forget the special Festival de Cannes 70th anniversary Prize which was presented to Nicole Kidman, who had no less than 2 films in competition, along with a movie and a TV show presented in other categories, to salute her remarkable career.

We extend our congratulations to these exceptional women.
