Ms. Yuan Feng has been appointed as a board member of the Kering Corporate Foundation. She joins the board of directors as an expert for Asia Pacific regions to further enhance the impact of the Kering Foundation in combatting violence against women.

Yuan Feng is an advocator for women’s rights and gender equality in China, having supported such causes since the mid-1980s. She is founder, cofounder and board member of organisations including China’s Gender & Development Network, Beijing’s Anti-Domestic Violence Network, and the Centre for Women’s Studies at Shantou University. An academic, she is a graduate of Shanghai’s Fudan University and Bejing’s Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. She has dedicated her career to the cause of women, commencing as a journalist with the People’s Daily and China Women’s News from 1986 – 2006. Ms. Feng is also a current member of the International Advisory Committee for BRIDGE in the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) at the University of Sussex, UK. Guided by her decades of experience in the non-profit world and her expertise in women’s rights, she will play an integral role in the Kering Foundation’s combat to end violence against women.

François-Henri Pinault, Chairman & CEO of Kering and Chairman of the Kering Foundation said “I am delighted to welcome Yuan Feng and look forward to working alongside her so as to drive the cause of women. With the addition of her expertise and her experience in China to the board, we will expand the Kering Foundation’s impact across new horizons. Five years after launching the Kering Foundation, the urgent need to combat violence against women still persists. By reorientating our actions we will strengthen the voice of domestic violence victims in Asia, a region that is important to our Group as a whole.”

Yuan Feng commented “Violence against women is a daily reality for millions across the world, and so combatting it must be our daily priority. It is a privilege to join such a board of expertise as that of the Kering Foundation. Over the past five years, their actions have improved the lives of many women.”
