Boucheron, a year in the U.S.

New York and Las Vegas in 2024, Los Angeles in 2025, and Miami soon to come: a look at Boucheron’s American expansion.

At the end of 2024, Boucheron made the move across the Atlantic and began a new chapter in its U.S. journey. A world leader in the jewelry market, America is characterized by an increasingly demanding clientele in search of unique creations and eager for innovation. These tastes correspond closely to the positioning of Boucheron, whose Carte Blanche high jewelry collections boldly redefine the very notion of preciousness. That’s why it’s only natural that Boucheron has chosen to put down roots in the U.S., with three new boutiques opened since the last quarter of 2024 and a fourth to come in early 2026.

Boucheron and the United States: a long, rich history

Since its creation, Boucheron has always been popular with American clients: in the 19th century, well-to-do Americans would make trips across the Atlantic to acquire the latest designer creations. Among these were pieces of jewelry designed by Frédéric Boucheron, then based at the Palais Royal. As early as 1865, Boucheron's ledgers make mention of American clients, the first early signs of the strong bonds that the House would go on to forge with some of the country's most prominent families: the Vanderbilts; the Mackays; who placed nearly 55 orders between 1871 and 1902; and the Astors, the very first millionaires in U.S. history.

Boucheron also began to form ties with Hollywood. Over the years, the House developed close relationships with icons of the silver screen such as Elizabeth Taylor, who was famous for her collection of jewelry and gemstones. Her collection included an Art Nouveau hair comb in plique-à-jour enamel, rubies, emeralds, aquamarine, and opal, which was made by Boucheron in 1900 and worn by the actress at the 1976 Academy Awards ceremony. Rita Hayworth, Barbara Hutton, Greta Garbo, and Marlene Dietrich were also among the House’s clients, and sported its creations at public and private events.

The Boucheron boutique in New York

A first boutique in New York

For its first address on American soil, Boucheron looked to New York. Located on Manhattan's famous Madison Avenue, the store pays homage to Art Deco, the artistic and architectural movement that shaped the city, with geometric wooden display cases and stands coated in black lacquer and furnishings characteristic of the 1920s.

To mark this milestone opening, Boucheron created a unique experience: an immersive exhibition designed to allow visitors to discover the full breadth of the brand’s creative universe which was housed at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, a museum devoted to historical and contemporary design located just a few blocks from the House’s new address. The exhibition featured no fewer than five distinct spaces showcasing exceptional archival pieces, the two most recent high jewelry collections, and remarkable innovations such as the Quatre 5D Memory ring, which was unveiled for the first time. The ring is encoded with a score immortalizing the sound of waves developed in collaboration with IRCAM (the Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music).

One year later, Boucheron gathered friends of the House in the heart of Central Park for a dinner to celebrate its first year in the U.S. As fate would have it, this intimate evening was held at Bethesda Terrace, a large esplanade in the heart of the park, which dates back to 1858—the very year Frédéric Boucheron opened his first boutique.

Today, our goal is to strengthen our presence in the region and to introduce our brand. We are entering a strategic, demanding, and highly competitive market, but I firmly believe that our positioning is perfectly aligned with the expectations of our American clientele.

Las Vegas and Los Angeles: Boucheron sets its sights on the American West

The House’s expansion across the Atlantic continued in Las Vegas, at the Fontainebleau luxury resort, where Boucheron opened a boutique in December 2024. An ode to the Las Vegas’s color and dynamism, the store draws inspiration from the Parisian architecture of the historic flagship store on Place Vendôme and retains the warm atmosphere which the House holds dear.

The Boucheron boutique in Los Angeles

The Los Angeles boutique on Rodeo Drive, which opened in June 2025, marks yet another milestone in the strategy of Boucheron. A return to the brand’s roots, the store’s Art Deco-inspired interior evokes Hollywood cinema and its icons. The green volcanic rock façade, designed specifically for this location in the House’s signature color, stands out from the neighboring storefronts, bringing a touch of French luxury to California.

In October, a few months after its Los Angeles opening, Boucheron organized an exclusive event at Harvey House, an Art Deco villa nestled in the Hollywood Hills designed by architect John Lautner. The immersive exhibition, entitled “A Cutting-Edge Journey Since 1858,” traced 167 years of the House’s history through a four-part series of installations, each illustrating one of the brand’s creative pillars: couture, innovation, architecture, and nature. A true statement of intent, the event blended French craftsmanship and Hollywood glamour; historical expertise and contemporary creativity. In the evening, a dinner held in the gardens of the Harvey House gathered friends of the House, who were treated to a performance by legendary guitarist Nile Rodgers.

New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles… and soon Miami: the House has announced that in 2026 it will open its first store in Florida. For Boucheron, the American adventure has only just begun.
