François-Henri Pinault, Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Luc Besson are joining forces for the production of a movie, whose working title is Boomerang. The release is due on June 5 2009, World Environment Day. The production will be handled by EuropaCorp and Elzévir Films ; EuropaCorp will distribute the film throughout the world.

In the wake of the book “The Earth from the Air”, Boomerang offers a journey across more than fifty countries around the world. A voice-over narrator explains the major social and environmental issues of our time, as images exclusively seen from the sky are being displayed. It enables the spectator to gain perspective on these subjects. Using images of great beauty as well as a lucid and politically committed text, Boomerang aims at bringing awareness among a major audience, and, with an optimistic and positive attitude, at showing that solutions do exist.

PPR is very glad to support this initiative and to contribute to the raising of awareness on the dire condition of our planet. By becoming the exclusive world partner of this marvellous adventure, PPR is concentrating its sponsorship action in the field of social and environmental responsibility.

François-Henri Pinault, Chief-Executive-Officer of PPR, states: Too much is at stake to ignore it. We have a duty to raise awareness and act. With this in mind PPR is teaming up with Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Luc Besson for this magnificent project which aims at helping people understand and share the issues of our planet”.

The profits of the film will be donated to the association GoodPlanet.org.
