ABOUT SAINT LAURENT Founded in 1961, Yves Saint Laurent was the first couture house to introduce the concept of luxury prêt-à-porter in a 1966 collection called ‘Rive Gauche’, synonymous with youth and freedom. This shift represented a first critical step in the modernization of fashion and revolutionized the socio- cultural landscape. In 1999, the luxury goods division of the Kering Group acquired Yves Saint Laurent and, under the creative direction of Anthony Vaccarello since April 2016, continues to position the house at the summit of the luxury universe. Today, Saint Laurent collections include women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, small leather goods, jewelry, scarves, ties and eyewear.

We are currently seeking a Director of Supply Chain & Logistics for the Americas Region who will report to the Chief Operating Officer, Americas with a functional reporting line to the WW Director of Supply Chain & Logistics in Paris. The position will be based in Wayne, New Jersey where our Distribution Center and some Corporate offices are located along with the flexibility to work out of our NYC office at times to work directly with the Americas executive team.  

ROLE

The Director of Supply Chain & Logistics for the Americas will help define, develop, implement, plan and execute the regional supply chain strategy within a multi-channel retail and wholesale environment. He/She will support and enable business development with appropriate service levels, stock utilization, cost and working capital optimization while upholding our corporate social responsibility values. This role will work closely and partner with Regional and Worldwide Saint Laurent and Kering teams across Supply Chain, Logistics, Merchandising, Planning, Sales, Operations and Technology teams.

MISSION

  • Strategy Steering
    • Leverage operations perspectives to contribute to the company strategy, align global supply chain strategy with regional one
    • Translate strategy into initiatives, change management roadmaps (Infrastructure, processes, systems, technology, organization, KPIs) to reach company objectives
    • Strengthen relationship with counterparts and stakeholders at regional and worldwide levels and maintain constant flow of communication, input and alignment while exploiting best practices and benchmarks across the group
    • Entrepreneurial mindset to ensure constant business model evolution via innovation in order to face new business challenges
  • Activity Management
    • Define and monitor supply chain, logistics and transportation KPIs, revisit targets and manage performance reviews
    • Steer continuous improvement and project roadmap dynamic
    • Lead cross functional communication with company and group stakeholders
  • Distribution Planning
    • Assess, maintain, and challenge permanent product target/safety stock ensuring appropriate sock levels within the region and in each country across all channels
    • Support seasonal product collection launch in stores and any buffer stock in warehouse; set up an offer and target stock levels (SKU/Store) + eventually buffer stock in regional warehouses
    • Closely monitor deliveries and replenishment to the region based on sales trend for both permanent and seasonal product
    • Work closely and partner with Merchandising and Planning teams to enhance reporting/analysis of stock and stock coverage
    • Manage permanent/seasonal stock rebalancing within the region
    • Partner with Digital teams on product allocation from regional warehouse for all channels
  • Logistics
    • Support the implementation of pick and pack distribution from local warehouse to stores
    • Assess and propose improvement plan on existing logistics processes
    • Tracking of all logistics and transportation issues and formulate action plan to resolve
    • Coordinate return and transfer process
    • Keep central and local teams abreast of all logistics and transportation topics
    • Exception management for transportation coming from central warehouse
    • Help project and support monthly wholesale shipping targets
    • Coordinate the packaging replenishment process with logistics, digital and retail central teams
    • Achieve and improve targeted logistics and transportation KPI’s to help drive the business linked to supply chain strategy
  • Budget and cost control
    • Monitor and Analyze regional warehouse and logistics costs
    • Partner with Finance to submit forecast and budget projections used as the base for cost negotiations
    • Assess and challenge cost inefficiencies charged by partners
  • Sales Planning
    • Support merchandising, planning and/or finance teams to improve sales forecasting for best sellers along with its evolution
    • Partner in implementation of new tools to support future projections
    • Establish adequate and frequent process to review and align with all departments including central teams
    • Provide quantitative and qualitative reviews of sales projections
  • Communications
    • Weekly meetings with Central Supply Chain (special distribution needs)
    • Management of weekly calls with regional Kering Group Operations teams to align with brand priorities
    • Frequent meetings with local supply chain, logistics, operations, merchandising and planning stakeholders
    • Monthly forecast with Business Planning
  • People management
    • Recruit, train, motivate and develop a team
    • Share and communication global and regional vision and strategy to his/her team
    • Set challenging yet achievable objectives and roadmaps for growth and development of the department

PROFILE

  • 7+ years’ experience as Senior Manager or Director in Supply Chain, Logistics and Operations required
  • Multi-national fashion industry experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field required
  • Deep knowledge and high proficiency of ERP and WMS systems such as SAP, JDA, Manhattan, etc
  • Advanced Excel skills required, willing to learn new tools
  • Power BI and Tableau experience a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively to local and central executive/leadership teams as well as cross-functional departments and partners across the entire organization
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Entrepreneurial approach to assess and proactively improve existing processes with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to drive process improvements, resolve problems and get results, while applying a continuous improvement mindset to all workstreams
  • Fluent English, Bilingual (Spanish or French) a plus
