    Accelerating Action on Climate Change

    LONG FORMAT DESKTOP SUSTAINABILITY.jpg

Kering as part of a broad coalition of major global companies sign the International Business Declaration calling for accelerated climate action, ahead of the One Planet Summit taking place in Paris tomorrow. Two years after the groundbreaking adoption of the Paris Agreement (December 12th, 2015), Kering and the other 53 signatory companies call for framework conditions that lay the foundation for a pathway towards limiting global temperature rise to well below 2° Celsius and allow them to actively contribute to the implementation of the Paris Agreement. Measures include a phase-out of fossil fuel subsidies by 2025, an adequate price on carbon, and clarity on climate-related financial risks. To download the Declaration, click here.

In parallel, Kering also signed the French Business Climate Pledge today, together with the MEDEF France's largest entrepreneur network and 88 other French corporations, commiting to reinforcing its climate change actions over the coming three years. As part of the Pledge, a total of €320 billion will be invested in the research, development and provision of innovative solutions, products and services between now and 2020, in order to enable society to move toward a low-carbon model. The 89 signatory corporations represent a total of €1,500 billion turnover and net income, and 6 million jobs across the global.
