The Store Designer plays an integral role within the Gucci Global Store Design team contributing to the design and development of retail store projects across the global store network. The role supports the delivery of store concepts by translating creative ideas, brand identity, and business rationale into clear and consistent design solutions across multiple project types. The Store Designer contributes to projects of varying scale, from flagship stores to concessions, while collaborating closely with internal teams and external consultants to ensure design quality, coherence, and feasibility.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Research and develop creative ideas across multiple projects, preparing design materials for internal reviews, external approvals, and creative discussions.
    • Build clear and considered design narratives for each project, contributing to a wide range of retail formats including flagship stores, standard stores, and concessions.
    • Communicate design concepts through appropriate outputs such as sketches, hand drawings, renders, layouts, and scale drawings.
    • Develop design proposals independently and share work openly for internal feedback and external consultancy input, refining solutions based on collective discussion.
    • Take ownership of assigned projects under the guidance of the Senior Store Designer, actively seeking references, sketching ideas, and clearly communicating design intent to the team.
    • Source innovative materials, finishes, and techniques, with a strong focus on sustainability and luxury standards.
    • Research and stay informed about trends in retail design, visual styling, customer experience, and consumer interaction.
    • Develop and test store layout scenarios and simulations to support space planning and design decision-making.
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Construction, Visual Merchandising, Merchandising, and Sustainability.
    • Support the preparation of design packages to ensure smooth handover to regional construction and execution teams.
    • Ensure accuracy and data integrity within space planning and layout tools.

    Key Requirements                                                                              

    • Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or an equivalent professional qualification.
    • Proven experience in architecture and store design within the luxury retail sector, with a strong understanding of premium brand environments.
    • Strong creative sensibility and ability to craft innovative, visually compelling design concepts.
    • Confident creative point of view, with the ability to articulate and defend design choices clearly and convincingly.
    • Robust technical capability, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and effectively partner with cross-functional teams (Construction, VM, Merchandising, Retail, etc.).
    • Open-minded attitude, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in line with the ongoing evolution of the creative process within a project's development.
    • Solid knowledge of current market trends, competitor retail strategies, and emerging design innovations.
    • Highly organized, flexible, and able to adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to stakeholders at all levels.
    • Collaborative team player with strong initiative, proactive problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently when required.
    • Excellent command of the English language; knowledge of Italian is preferred.
    • Proficiency in the following software: Adobe Package (Photoshop, Illustrator, In design) e V-Ray
