Founded in 1961, Yves Saint Laurent was the first couture house to introduce the concept of luxury prêt-à-porter in a 1966 collection called ‘Rive Gauche’, synonymous with youth and freedom. This shift represented a first critical step in the modernization of fashion and revolutionized the socio- cultural landscape.
In 1999, the luxury goods division of the Kering Group acquired Yves Saint Laurent and, under the creative direction of Anthony Vaccarello since April
2016, continues to position the house at the summit of the luxury universe.
Today, Saint Laurent collections include women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, small leather goods, jewelry, scarves, ties and eyewear.
We are currently seeking a Regional Director for the West region who will report to the VP of Retail as part of our dynamic Retail team.
ROLE
The Regional Director is responsible for driving business performance, developing high-performing leadership teams, and elevating the client experience across the west market. This leader will act as a strategic business partner to both stores and corporate teams, ensuring operational excellence, talent development, and alignment with Saint Laurent’s vision and standards.
The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with a proven ability to inspire teams, cultivate luxury client relationships, and drive commercial performance in a fast-paced, high-touch environment.
MISSION
Business Leadership & Performance
- Drive sales growth and profitability across the region while ensuring alignment with company objectives and strategic priorities
- Analyze business trends, KPIs, and market opportunities to identify actionable strategies that maximize performance
- Partner closely with stores to elevate productivity, operational efficiency, client retention, and overall business results
- Ensure consistent execution of retail initiatives, operational standards, and company directives across all locations
- Monitor payroll, controllable expenses, inventory shortage, and operational performance to support financial targets
Talent Development & Leadership
- Recruit, develop, and retain top retail leadership talent while building a strong succession pipeline across the region
- Coach and mentor Store Directors and management teams to drive accountability, leadership capability, and career growth
- Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, high performance, and continuous development
- Lead with empathy and integrity while maintaining high expectations and strong business acumen
- Partner with Human Resources on talent strategy, organizational development, and employee relations matters
Client Experience & Brand Elevation
- Champion an elevated and consistent luxury client experience across all stores
- Build strong relationships with VICs and local market communities to support client development opportunities
- Ensure visual merchandising and brand presentation standards are executed in alignment with Saint Laurent guidelines
- Serve as a role model during store visits, reinforcing a culture where the client remains the top priority
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Act as a liaison between corporate headquarters and regional store teams to ensure strong communication and execution
- Collaborate with CRM, Merchandising, Operations, Learning & Development, and other corporate partners to drive business initiatives
- Share market insights, competitive intelligence, and client trends to influence regional and company strategy
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership through clear, strategic, and solution-oriented reporting
PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 5+ years of multi-unit leadership experience within luxury retail
- Proven success leading high-volume, client-centric retail businesses
- Strong leadership, coaching, and talent development capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to influence, inspire, and drive results across multiple locations
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate insights into action
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel frequently throughout the region
- Passion for luxury fashion, client experience, and brand storytelling
