GUCCI Fabrics Research & Development Intern

Where and when could you start the internship with us?

Starting in November 2026, we will offer an internship opportunity in the Fabrics Research & Development Team. We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Intern who will support the development, research, sourcing, and organization of fabrics for VIP, Celebrities, Fashion Show, and Special Projects collections, working closely with the Fabric R&D Specialists, Design teams, Product Development, and external suppliers.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the entire luxury fabric development process, from creative research and material selection to collection execution and final garment realization.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and monitoring of fabric developments, trials, and sampling activities with mills and suppliers.

• Create and maintain fabric archives, swatch libraries, technical documentation, and development tracking tools.
• Support the preparation of fabric presentations, collection reviews, fittings, and creative meetings.
• Collaborate with Design, Collection Development, Embroidery, Creative Atelier, and Product Development teams to ensure consistency and timely execution of collections.
• Monitor fabric deliveries, sample requests, and development calendars.
• Assist in updating fabric databases and ensuring accurate information regarding composition, pricing, lead times, and sustainability attributes.
• Conduct market and trend research to identify innovative materials, techniques, finishes, and construction methods.
• Support special projects related to VIP dressing, runway collections, and exclusive developments.
• Prepare reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.

What are the basics?

• Degree (completed or ongoing) in Fashion, Textile Engineering, Textile Design, Materials Science, Fashion Business, or related fields.
• Passion for fabrics, materials innovation, and luxury craftsmanship.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn.
• Team-player attitude with strong communication skills.
• Proactive approach and ownership mindset.
• Sensitivity to aesthetics, quality, and product excellence.
• Fluency in Italian and English
• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint proficiency

How will the Recruitment process look like? 

• The next step will be an initial screening interview with a member of the Talent Acquisition Team, during which we will discuss your background, motivation, and career aspirations.
• Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to the final step of the recruitment process, consisting of an interview with the Hiring Manager.
