Role Summary
The People Assistant role plays a critical role in delivering high quality operational HR support to the Corporate teams based at London HQ. Reporting into the Head of People Partnering, Corporate, the role is responsible for ensuring the smooth, accurate and timely delivery of core people processes across the employee lifecycle.
With a strong focus on HR administration, systems accuracy and responsive employee support, this role underpins operational excellence by maintaining data integrity, supporting recruitment and onboarding activity, and acting as a reliable first point of contact for day-to-day people queries. The People Assistant will ensure that policies, processes and systems are applied consistently, enabling managers and employees to be supported effectively and compliantly. How you will contribute
Reporting into the Senior People Partner, Corporate, the role supports the Corporate teams based at London HQ, contributing to a smooth, compliant and positive employee experience from recruitment, onboarding, all the way through the employee lifecycle. This role is a fixed term contract opportunity until 31st December 2026.
Recruitment Administration
•Maintain accurate recruitment records, including job description libraries and recruitment activity trackers.
•Post job roles internally and externally, in line with approved processes.
•Liaise with candidates throughout the recruitment process, ensuring a professional and engaging candidate experience.
•Arrange interviews and coordinate diaries with hiring managers and interview panels.
•Conduct and record right to work checks in line with UK legislation and internal policy.
•Support hiring managers with administrative aspects of recruitment and onboarding.
Employee Lifecycle Support
•Coordinate end-to-end onboarding, including system set up, inductions and first day readiness.
•Support offboarding processes, ensuring timely documentation, system updates, final pay inputs and exit administration.
•Act as a first point of contact for employee lifecycle queries, escalating where appropriate.
HR Systems – Workday
•Enter, update and maintain all employee data accurately within Workday.
•Support system changes such as starters, leavers, reporting line changes and job updates.
•Act as a Workday Champion, providing first line guidance to employees and managers and supporting data accuracy and compliance.
•Assist with basic reporting and audits from Workday.
General HR Administration & Operations
•Run regular and ad-hoc HR reports to support the People team and stakeholders.
•Respond to day-to-day operational HR requests and employee queries in a timely and professional manner.
•Support the administration of HR processes such as probation reviews, contract changes, absence tracking and policy acknowledgements.
•Maintain accurate employee files and documentation in line with GDPR and data retention requirements.
•Assist with preparation of HR documentation and letters where required.
•Support audits, policy updates and compliance checks.
•Provide administrative support to People team on ad hoc projects and initiatives.
•Provide administrative support for employee relations processes (e.g. note-taking, document collation), where appropriate.
Required Skills:
• Experience operating in a fast paced organisation and meeting deadlines through previous internships or experience
• Experience of HR systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to build relationships
• Ability to multitask, prioritise and coordinate key projects
• Strong attention to detail
• Previous HR experience highly desirable
