ABOUT SAINT LAURENT Founded in 1961, Yves Saint Laurent was the first couture house to introduce the concept of luxury prêt-à-porter in a 1966 collection called ‘Rive Gauche’, synonymous with youth and freedom. This shift represented a first critical step in the modernization of fashion and revolutionized the socio- cultural landscape. In 1999, the luxury goods division of the Kering Group acquired Yves Saint Laurent and, under the creative direction of Anthony Vaccarello since April 2016, continues to position the house at the summit of the luxury universe. Today, Saint Laurent collections include women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, small leather goods, jewelry, scarves, ties and eyewear.

We are currently seeking a Sr. Accountant who will report to the Accounting Manager as part of our dynamic team in New Jersey.


This key member of the Finance Department will support in collection, preparation and reviewing of financial information during month and year-end closing process while meeting all deadlines. The Sr. Accountant will be a key partner in reviewing, monitoring and managing accurate reporting of financials (actuals and accruals) according to Kering and IFRS guidelines.


  • Support Saint Laurent Americas including but not limited to: USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Panama
  • Work closely with Kering Shared Service, external BPOs and the Finance team during the monthly and year-end closing
    • Oversee integration and review of local Trial Balances into the ERP system
    • Responsible for the preparation of Margin Files
    • Monthly recurring and not recurring Journal entries
    • Monthly Closing Package for Controlling Group
    • Preparation of files for quarterly and year-end tax provisions for Kering Tax Department
  • Support Accounting Manager in meetings with department heads to go over financial results to ensure proper coding of expenses in accordance with IRFS, and budget guidelines  
  • Analyze financial activity throughout the month and processes to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Supports Accounting Manager in partnering with Kering Shared Service units and external BPOs to ensure accuracy and efficiency of processes
  • Maintain a clean Trial Balance by ensuring completion of balance sheet recs for all business units
  • Review of soft close and concur activities for proper coding of expenses in accordance with IFRS and internal budget guidelines
  • Daily approve of invoices in Invoice approval tool for the Americas Region
  • Daily approve of inventory stock adjustments in Share Point for Americas Region
  • Prepare monthly variable rent calculation for posterior payment to landlord
  • Ensure all lease-required templates are up to date in accordance with IFRS and Kering guidelines and work with Kering Lease Accounting team to ensure timely payment and reconciliation of lease related costs.
    • Straight Line Rent schedule for Operating Leases
    • IFRS 16 compliance and platform maintenance for Financial leases
    • Variable Rent Schedule
  • Supports Accounting Manager in the compilation and timely preparation of documentation for Canada Income tax calculation performed by external tax entity
  • Assist management in the compilation and preparation of support for annual external audit as well Group Internal audits
  • Support management on ad hoc analyses and special projects
  • Aid the Controller in the monitoring of internal control compliance, SOPs, etc
  • Support in preparation of Additional disclosures in consolidation tool


  • Bachelors Accounting; CPA or MBA a plus
  • 4+ years accounting role experience; Retail experience a plus
  • Understanding of accounting principles and procedures, IFRS  
  • Advanced technical skills (Excel, Pivot Tables, V Lookup, SUMIFS)
  • Core competencies and traits:

    • Highest regard for confidentiality. Must be able to maintain confidentiality with sensitive company information
    • Aggressively anticipate impacts of workload/issues to team deadlines and have a very positive work attitude including willing to work some longer hours during peak periods
  • System savvy and self-motivated to learn new technology and participate in new projects; SAP experience a plus
  • Position is based in New Jersey, willingness to travel to NY Office as needed
