In April 2026, Kering announced the creation of its Accademia per le Eccellenze, an integrated and distributed educational ecosystem dedicated to craftsmanship in Italy. It brings together the expertise of Kering Houses and the deeply rooted knowledge of Italy’s regional schools, creating a training network that sustains the distinctive manufacturing heritage of local communities and carries it forward.
“With the Kering Accademia per le Eccellenze, we are building a platform to nurture capabilities, reinforce excellence, and support the evolution of luxury métiers over time.”
Italian artisans draw on a heritage of knowledge, creativity, and precision passed down from one generation to the next. By 2035, the Italian luxury sector will need thousands of qualified professionals across its production chain, while some of the skills involved are at risk of being lost.
TheKering Accademia per le Eccellenze was created to preserve and advance the savoir-faire on which Italian craftsmanship has built its international reputation.
Through a new educational model, the Accademia brings together design and manufacturing cultures, theory and practice, and artisanal heritage and innovation.
Open to Group employees and external candidates, its courses run from one-day masterclasses to diploma programs of up to seven years.
The Accademia offers educational programs across a wide range of disciplines, including jewelry and goldsmithing, menswear tailoring, eyewear, ready-to-wear, leather goods, footwear, and fashion communication and management.
The aim is to develop versatile professionals who can master materials, interpret a creative vision, and contribute to the evolution of their craft.
Through the Accademia per le Eccellenze, Kering invests in passing on artisanal skills and supports a new generation of talent as they build their careers.
The Kering Accademia per le Eccellenze builds on the training programs that Kering Houses have already developed, including the existing schools of Brioni, Bottega Veneta, Gucci and Pomellato. These programs continue in their own settings, now with shared standards and common certification.
The Kering Houses, as well as Kering Eyewear, are at the heart of this ecosystem: they open the doors to their expertise, sharing master craftspeople and resources to shape the next generation of high-end manufacturing professionals.
The partner schools are based in Italy’s manufacturing districts, areas where companies specializing in a single craft, such as leather goods, footwear, or eyewear, have clustered for generations. They provide the classrooms and workshops where learning takes shape through hands-on teaching rooted in local know-how.
