    ABOUT SAINT LAURENT Founded in 1961, Yves Saint Laurent was the first couture house to introduce the concept of luxury prêt-à-porter in a 1966 collection called ‘Rive Gauche’, synonymous with youth and freedom. This shift represented a first critical step in the modernization of fashion and revolutionized the socio-cultural landscape. In 1999, the luxury goods division of the Kering Group acquired Yves Saint Laurent and, under the creative direction of Anthony Vaccarello since April 2016, continues to position the house at the summit of the luxury universe. Today, Saint Laurent collections include women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, small leather goods, jewelry, scarves, ties and eyewear. We are currently seeking a General Merchandising Manager who will report to China General Manager as part of our dynamic team in China.

    ROLE

    You will lead the merchandising team of Saint Laurent China in planning, directing and executing merchandising strategies and activities to maximize sales, inventory, profitability and brand image.

    MISSION

    • Work closely with the General Manager of Saint Laurent China to set the Open-To-Buy Plans for China and the overall merchandising strategy.
    • Responsible for merchandise mix and assortment planning differentiation in accordance to the different stores of China.
    • Liaise closely with Headquarter to provide feedback from markets and make recommendations on product style, mix and purchase for the China market.
    • Lead the seasonal buying sessions to ensure best merchandise is purchased at appropriate quantities to achieve targeted sales projections and sell-through and work on key reassortment opportunities.
    • Monitor inventory, delivery and reordering situations to ensure appropriate levels of stock are maintained across all categories, and responsible for merchandise allocations to DOS and co-ordination with stores and warehouse for stock replenishment issues
    • Monitor sales and sell-through situations and initiate appropriate strategies and tactics to liquidate stocks and boost sales, and take care of all mark-down/mark-up and merchandise related issues for seasonal sale periods to achieve different kinds of sales target
    • Provide seasonal product training and fashion trend information to the retail staff, customize them and proactively with the team follow up during store visits.
    • Partner with Communication, Retail, E-commerce and Visual Merchandising departments to push and decline the merchandising strategy and key products push.
    • Follow up and manage the Outlet business from merchandising and planning standpoint.
    • Monitor and review performance of merchandising teams, provide on job coaching to the subordinates, identify individual training and career development needs.

    PROFILE

    • Education background: Min. bachelor’s degree in fashion or luxury management.
    • Min. 10 years of relevant experience in the fashion/luxury industry.
    • Min. 6 years of experience in the managerial position.
    • Very strong fashion sense.
    • Understanding of the luxury industry.
    • Good knowledge of the local market and customer.
    • Good leadership skills.
    • Result-driven, action-oriented, analytical thinking.
    • Business acumen.
    • Good communication skills both in English and Mandarin
    • Proficient in MS-Office functions.
    • Willing to travel extensively and frequently
