    KERING Accounting Coordinator

    The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the accounting activities of two Mexican legal entities, ensuring accurate financial records, timely month-end and year-end closings, compliance with corporate accounting policies, and adherence to Mexican accounting and tax regulations. The position supervises an Accounting Analyst and works closely with Finance, Tax, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Procurement, Payroll, external advisors, auditors, and corporate stakeholders. This role combines hands-on accounting responsibilities with team coordination, stakeholder management, internal controls, financial reporting, and continuous process improvement. The Accounting Coordinator ensures that accounting activities are completed accurately, consistently, and within established deadlines.

    HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

    • Coordinate and oversee the daily accounting activities of two Mexican legal entities.
    • Coordinate and actively participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closing processes.
    • Review journal entries, accruals, provisions, reclassifications, and accounting postings recorded in the applicable ERP systems.
    • Review balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, taxes, payroll, fixed assets, and intercompany accounts.
    • Monitor outstanding and aged reconciliation items and coordinate their timely resolution.
    • Review trial balances, identify unusual movements, and prepare account analyses and supporting explanations.
    • Prepare and review financial reports for local management, regional teams, and corporate stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with Mexican accounting and tax requirements, including CFDI, VAT, withholding taxes, and vendor documentation.
    • Support monthly and annual tax reconciliations in coordination with the Tax team and external advisors.
    • Coordinate audit requests and prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
    • Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, approval matrices, and documentation standards.
    • Identify accounting risks, control gaps, and process improvement opportunities.
    • Participate in automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Develop and maintain accounting procedures, checklists, reconciliations, and Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Partner with Finance, Tax, Procurement, Treasury, Payroll, IT, and Brand teams to resolve accounting matters.
    • Supervise and support the Accounting Analyst by establishing priorities, monitoring deliverables, and providing regular coaching and feedback.
    • Ensure appropriate coverage and continuity of critical accounting activities during closing periods and employee absences.

     

    WHO YOU ARE

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • At least four years of experience in General Accounting, Financial Reporting, Controllership, or a Big Four accounting firm.
    • Solid knowledge of Mexican accounting standards and basic tax requirements.
    • Experience with month-end and year-end closings, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
    • Knowledge of CFDI validation, VAT, withholding taxes, and vendor tax requirements.
    • Experience supporting internal or external audits and maintaining appropriate documentation.
    • Experience using ERP systems. SAP experience is strongly preferred.
    • Knowledge of Contpaqi or another local accounting system is desirable.
    • Previous experience coordinating or supervising junior team members.
    • Experience supporting South American or Caribbean entities is considered an advantage.
    • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
