The House

One of the most venerable names in the industry, Balenciaga was founded by visionary dressmaker Cristóbal Balenciaga in Spain in 1917. Twenty years later, the eponymous House moved to Paris, where the designer presented his first Couture collection, immediately acclaimed for its technical perfection, sense of proportion and avant-garde allure. Under his exacting eye, waistlines drop to hip level, volumes are exaggerated and jackets adopt a structural hourglass shape, transforming the feminine silhouette. This forward-thinking approach continues to drive the brand today, over fifty years after the founder’s passing. &nbsp;

History

Known for revolutionizing modern couture with architectural silhouettes and cutting-edge materials, Balenciaga has always pushed the boundaries of fashion, a trait reflected in its legacy of code-defying creative directors, from Nicolas Ghesquière to Demna. Today, under Pierpaolo Piccioli’s creative direction, the brand’s signature sculptural shapes redefine the body with a purity of cut that reveals his meticulous attention to craftsmanship, marking a new chapter in Balenciaga’s ongoing dialogue between innovation and heritage.&nbsp;

Creative vision

Cristóbal Balenciaga opens his Couture House at 10 Avenue George V in Paris.  

1937 

Creation of the first Balenciaga fragrance: Le Dix. 

1947  

Creation of the Sack dress whose minimal form revolutionized fashion and intentionally liberated women from strictures. 

1957  

Balenciaga joins Kering. Launch of Le City bag. 

2001 

Balenciaga returns to Couture after 53 years of absence. 

2021 

Gianfranco Gianangeli is appointed Chief Executive Officer. Pierpaolo Piccioli becomes Creative Director. Returning to the House’ olfactive heritage, Balenciaga launches a collection of ten new fragrances.

Job Family Group Description - Sales / Omni-Channel:
Combines all positions within the different sales channels: retail, wholesale and e-commerce. Also includes all activities to support store management.

Job Family Description -Retail Selling:
Represents the brand to clients. Guides them at every stage of the buying journey. Provides support on styles, product characteristics and trends.

Sub-Job Family Description - Sales Assistant:
Advises our customers during the buying journey. Presents the collection using brand standards. As the visible face of the brand follows company values. Contributes to reaching set sales targets and enhances customer satisfaction.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE<ul><li>Adhere to P&amp;L Budget for all operational areas; manage controllable expenses for the store, including but not limited to T&amp;E, temporary support, and supplies</li><li>Manage all Inventory Control activities including Shipping &amp; Receiving, Cycle Counts, Transfers, RTVs, Negative on-hands, Damages and Repairs, Consignment Management</li><li>Manage After Sales Program</li><li>Prepares and Manager Yearly Inventory Cycle</li><li>Support, promote and assume responsibility for Loss Prevention in all areas of Risk Management, Physical Security, Store Cash Controls, Inventory Management, LP and Internal Audits </li><li>Strategize in anticipating inventory levels and stock organization within the store and any off-site locations</li><li>Oversee the timely and accurate balancing of operational functions inclusive of petty cash, mail checks and invoices</li><li>Maintain thorough understanding of all processes, policies, and procedures. Ensure team adherence to Balenciaga retail operations and security procedures </li><li>Ensure digital fluency and systems knowledge amongst the team. This includes training and education on POS, Inventory platforms and store digital tools</li><li>Responsible for managing and maintaining the boutique schedule and bi-weekly payroll process</li><li>Assist in the absence of Store and Assistant Store Manager</li></ul>WHO YOU ARE<ul><li>Excellent computer skills and proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.</li><li>Proficient shipping and receiving experience</li><li>Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written</li><li>Strong POS, inventory, and phone systems</li><li>Must work well under pressure and have the ability to multi-task</li><li>Acute interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style</li></ul>COMPENSATIONFor individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, BALENCIAGA includes a reasonable estimate of the salary or hourly rate range for this role. This considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications. We are currently seeking an Operations Manager who will report to the Store Director. 

YOUR OPPORTUNITY 

The Operations Manager oversees and directs all operational functions which may include inventory control, housekeeping, repair & maintenance and operations associates. They are the expert on all Standard Operating Procedures, systems and tools, ensuring the smooth running of operations to enable the ultimate client experience.

Your opportunity You will lead the development and implementation of the training strategy, from conception to rollout, for WW Retail Teams, aiming at elevating our client experience, commercial performance and passion sharing.    You will support business and retail teams by assessing, designing, and ensuring the development and deployment of engaging retail-training tools, animations and workshops. You will identify opportunities and synergies with other departments; instill best practice sharing, and a consistent approach to learning across all retail teams. How you will contribute <ul><li>Assess, design and develop Retail Training plans and tools (in-store, classroom and digital) in line with the Retail Excellence strategy and Global Retail Training framework</li><li>Develop a cohesive retail training community across all regions and training levels (from HQ, to HO, to Local trainers, and in-store training Ambassadors)</li><li>Follow-up on training roll-out with Regional training and management</li><li>Lead the Development of a culture of strategic Coaching and feedback amongst our Managers in Stores, aimed at driving performance and client experience elevation</li><li>Manage, engage and develop the Retail Training teams at headquarters and regionally</li></ul>Who you are <ul><li>10 years’ experience in training design, development and deployment</li><li>Previous experience in a global retail environment in a similar position would be appreciated</li><li>Experience in Digital training and gamification</li><li>Certificated Insight Coach is appreciated</li><li>Possess a strong passion in fostering a learning culture and developing talents   </li><li>Ability to travel internationally</li><li>Strong Project Management skills</li><li>Able to work in a fast and international environment with many interactions</li><li>Able to work under pressure on tight schedule and adapting to different requests (prioritize &#43; flexibility)</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point); Photoshop; digital tools</li><li>Perfect command of English</li></ul>Why work with us?
