The House

Bottega Veneta was established in 1966 by Renzo Zengiaro and Michele Taddei. With a foundational commitment to craft and creativity as well as a bold new vision for luxury leather goods, the House quickly set itself apart with its soft, supple bags, free of heavy hardware – and without a logo. In 1975, Bottega Veneta introduced Intrecciato, an intricate craft of woven leather that became its visual and tactile signature. Today, the House carries its artisanal excellence and design philosophy across ready-to-wear collections for men and women, homeware, jewelry, and fragrances.&nbsp;

History

Rooted in a deep commitment to cultural advocacy, the House’s creative vision is expressed not only in its own collections but also through partnerships and initiatives across design, craft, and the visual and performing arts. In September 2025, Louise Trotter, Creative Director of Bottega Veneta since January 2025, presented her debut show at the House with an audio collaboration with British artist Steve McQueen. Weaving remarkable craft into modern sensuality, her language strikes the perfect balance between practicality and luxury.&nbsp;

Introduction of the Intrecciato weave and iconic tagline “When Your Own Initials are Enough”. 

1975 

Intrecciato reaches new levels of cultural recognition, when Lauren Hutton’s character, Michelle Stratton, carries an Intrecciato clutch in Paul Schrader’s American Gigolo.  

1980  

2001 

Bartolomeo Rongone is appointed Chief Executive Officer.

To ensure visual presentations of local DOS stores are always maintained at a worldwide level and to support the visual merchandising director to achieve business goals and density by developing visual merchandising strategies & executing display plans reflecting local trends & needs
