Established in Milan in 1967—a revolutionary time of societal transformation and women's emancipation—, Pomellato draws its identity from the creative spirit of its birthplace. It was in that unique avant-garde environment, amid artists, intellectuals, and designers of the era, that a new vision of jewelry was born. Its founder, Pino Rabolini, came from a family of goldsmiths and dreamt of modern jewelry for a new generation of independent women. The brand's "easy-to-wear" pieces, distinguished by refined goldsmithing techniques and bold colored gemstones, were an instant hit. Pomellato stood out not only for its innovative and versatile design, but also for its disruptive imagery created by renowned photographers such as Gian Paolo Barbieri, Helmut Newton, and Peter Lindbergh.
More than half a century after its founding, Pomellato continues to embrace a joyful approach to jewelry, driven by the vision of Creative Director Vincenzo Castaldo, who celebrated his 20th year with the House in 2023. In every Pomellato piece, gold is sculpted into sinuous volumes while colored gemstones reveal their singular personalities through masterful cutting and setting techniques. The iconic Nudo collection exemplifies this philosophy with its patented 57-facet irregular cut, which liberates the stone's natural beauty. In 2020, Pomellato launched its first high jewelry collection, pushing the language of jewelry toward new expressive frontiers.
