    Role Mission

    The China Commercial General Manager is responsible for developing and executing the organization’s commercial strategy to drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion, aligned with the brand's global vision and business objectives.

    Reporting to the Greater China President & CEO and working closely with the Greater China leadership team, this role will oversee retail (duty paid, duty free and outlets), e-commerce, client service, retail excellence, client engagement and commercial operations, ensuring a seamless omnichannel approach and exceptional luxury client experience.

    The role combines strategic vision, commercial acumen, operational excellence, and people leadership to maximize business performance, strengthen commercial organization, build and execute a clienteling plan to recruit, retain and develop.

    Key Responsibilities

    Commercial Strategy

    • Develop and implement the organization’s commercial strategy aligned with overall business and brand objectives.
    • Identify growth opportunities across new and existing markets, products, and customer segments.
    • Assess market potential and support decisions related to network optimization, store expansion, relocations, and investment opportunities
    • Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share expansion.
    • Evaluate market trends, consumer behavior, competitive positioning, and commercial risks.

    Sales & Revenue Growth

    • Lead and optimize the retail organization to achieve revenue targets and commercial objectives in all channels
    • Establish and monitor sales KPIs, performance metrics, and reporting structures
    • Support key account management and major commercial negotiations
    • Ensure alignment between sales, marketing, merchandising, digital and clientele functions
    • Enhance customer experience, retention, and lifetime value strategies

    Business Development & Partnerships

    • Identify and secure strategic plans to maximize commercial opportunities
    • Lead business development initiatives and expansion into new markets or sectors.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and industry partners.
    • Collaborate with merchandising and operations teams on pricing strategies, forecasting, and budgeting.
    • Ensure commercial activities align with financial and operational objectives.
    • Use data and analytics to inform decision-making and performance improvement.
    • Act as the voice of the customer, gathering localized feedback to improve the overall customer experience and brand loyalty.

    Leadership & Team Development

    • Build, lead, and develop high-performing retail & commercial teams
    • Foster a collaborative, customer-focused, and performance-driven culture
    • Support succession planning, talent development, and organizational capability growth
    • Promote accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a closely related field; a Master’s degree is preferred
    • A minimum of five years’ commercial management experience within luxury brands operating across Mainland China across all channels including e-commerce
    • Proven commercial acumen and capability to oversee all retail channel operations end-to-end
    • Track record of leading, nurturing and developing diverse talents within a matrix organisation spanning regional offices and global headquarters
    • Fully fluent in both English and Mandarin
    • Willingness to undertake travel for at least 50% of working time and accept rotational mobility assignments as required
