Your opportunity
Kering is seeking a UK Customs Operations Specialist to manage and support all customs-related activities linked to the United Kingdom market.
Based in Trecate (Italy HQ) and reporting directly to the ECommerce & UK Operations Customs Coordinator, the role will act as a key operational and compliance reference, working closely with both Italy and UK teams as well as external brokers.
This position combines high-volume operational execution, compliance controls, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring full alignment with HMRC requirements and internal standards.
How you will contribute
1. Customs Operations Management
- Manage daily UK import/export customs operations across multiple brands and brokers
- Oversee key flows, including:
- Preparation of customs instructions
- Returns and Return Goods Relief (RGR)
- Pre-shipment customs validation for high-priority flows (e.g. fashion shows)
- CITES permits management, ensuring full traceability and compliance
- Ensure structured reporting and data consolidation
- Support compliance, audit, and risk mitigation activities
- Maintain continuous interaction with brokers and cross-functional teams
2. Reporting & Data Analysis
- Produce and maintain key reporting:
- MSS Monthly Import Report (HMRC data consolidation across 14 entities)
- FTA Savings Report (duty savings through preferential origin)
- RGR Savings Reporting (quarterly)
- Annual Customs Activity Report (multi-brand consolidated view)
- Analyze customs data to identify inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities
3. Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement
- Manage operational issues and escalations with brokers and internal stakeholders
- Drive corrective actions and process improvements
- Contribute to ongoing projects and initiatives
- Support VAT recovery processes (e.g. HMRC amendments, UPS flows)
Who you are
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in customs operations, with knowledge of UK customs (HMRC), import/export processes, FTA, RGR, CITES, and VAT
- Language: Fluent English (mandatory) for daily interaction with UK stakeholders
- Core Skills: Strong problem-solving mindset, proactive approach, and sense of ownership
- Capabilities: Excellent organizational and analytical skills; ability to manage high workload and multiple priorities
