Kering Attends the 9th CIIE in Shanghai, Interpreting “True Luxury, Next Luxury”

From November 5 to 10, 2026, global luxury group Kering attends the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) with all its Houses. The Kering Pavilion centers on the Group’s strategic vision “True Luxury, Next Luxury,” showcasing exquisite craftsmanship and creativity across its family of brands and presenting the Group’s latest initiatives. It reflects the Group’s enduring commitment to excellence, culture and sustainability, as well as its perspective on the future of luxury.

Making its eighth consecutive appearance at CIIE, Kering stays anchored in True Luxury while actively leading the emergence of Next Luxury. “True Luxury” is the foundation — creativity, craftsmanship, cultural relevance and product excellence. “Next Luxury” is the horizon — new technologies, new expectations, new markets and new forms of engagement. From creative legacy to imagination, the Kering Pavilion weaves heritage with innovation, unfolding a journey to explore the essence of luxury.

To create an immersive narrative space, Kering is pleased to present its pavilion design in collaboration with contemporary calligrapher Wang Dongling and artist Ren Tianjin. The high walls come alive with flowing ink gilded in shimmer — a monumental, to-scale reinterpretation of Wang's “Chaos Script” work Thousand Character Classic. The experimental artistic expression blurs the line between calligraphy and painting, reinterpreting the Chinese classic that encompasses cosmos, ages, human bonds and self-cultivation. Enclosed by curved walls, the courtyard features Ren’s sculpture Taihu Rock – East Wind at the center. Its 3D form renders the dynamic tension of the cursive-script characters “Dong Feng” (East Wind), with the Taihu rock’s rugged texture evoking a resilient spirit and poetic Jiangnan garden ambiance. Drawing upon the essence of traditional calligraphy, both artists reimagine Eastern heritage through their highly original contemporary artistic language. By integrating their avant-garde creative practices, the Kering Pavilion not only crafts a space that harmonizes openness and tranquility, but also exemplifies the profound meaning of the exhibition: heritage, embodied through creativity, becomes reinvention.

Presenting Global Debuts and Revealing the Essence of Luxury

Showcasing iconic creations, the full spectrum of Kering Houses presents their craftsmanship and spirit at the CIIE. The participating brands include Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Brioni, Boucheron, Pomellato, Qeelin, Ginori 1735 and Kering Eyewear.

Qeelin, part of Kering, officially unveils Qeelin GOLD at the CIIE on November 6, marking an important milestone in the Maison's development. A natural extension of the Qeelin universe, Qeelin GOLD brings a contemporary vision to pure gold jewelry and introduces its first collection, BAJING.

Kering Eyewear will present products making their global debut at the CIIE, including the LINDBERG 2027 Year of the Goat limited-edition eyewear and a new Maui Jim collection engineered for outdoor sports. Ginori 1735 has also created Studies in Ginori Blue for this year’s CIIE, conceived as a contemporary tribute to the blues historically associated with Chinese porcelain.

Jean-Marc Duplaix, Group Chief Operating Officer of Kering and Chief Executive Officer of Kering Jewelry, said: “China is one of the most important markets for the global luxury industry, whose long-term development is crucial for the entire sector. The CIIE offers a valuable opportunity for us to engage in in-depth dialogue with Chinese consumers and local partners. We will continue to offer excellent products and services, responding to Chinese consumers’ latest expectations for luxury experiences, boosting market confidence and contributing to a more creative future for the fashion and luxury industry.”

Empowering Diverse Forces to Foster a Thriving Long-term Ecosystem

While showcasing exceptional creations, Kering also demonstrates its commitment to empowering the broader industry ecosystem. The Kering Pavilion presents the Group’s latest initiatives and progress over the past year in fashion creativity, arts and culture, and sustainability.

Kering CRAFT — Creative Residency for Artisanship, Fashion and Technology — the Group’s pioneering program launched in partnership with Shanghai Fashion Week during the 8th CIIE, aims to foster closer ties between Chinese and international creative communities, and accelerate the next generation of Chinese designers. The 10 fellows of the cohort have completed their residency trip across multiple cities in Italy and France, and will present a final creative project during Shanghai Fashion Week 2027.

Partnering with the Shanghai International Film Festival for the second consecutive year, Kering served as the Official Co-Creation Partner of the 28th edition of the Festival, co-hosting SIFFORUM | Kering Women In Motion Talk around the theme “Creativity In Motion,” and supporting a Special Screening Program, highlighting the diversity of cinematic voices and fostering dialogue across cultures and generations.

Alongside its commitment to arts, culture and craftsmanship, Kering continues to champion new ideas and emerging talent to help shape a more sustainable future for the industry. To accelerate sustainable innovation in China’s fashion and beauty sectors, Kering invited the three winners of the 4th Kering Generation Award X China to an in-depth exchange trip to Europe in March. During the trip, they attended the ChangeNOW Summit 2026 where they had the opportunity to showcase their solutions, build connections, and explore opportunities for collaboration on the global stage.

As an extension of the Award in the jewelry sector, the 2nd Kering Generation Award X Jewelry was presented during Paris Haute Couture Week, where Yang Yuchan from China won the student category with her work Perching Willow.

The Pavilion’s design also reflects Kering’s commitment to sustainability, combining modular, prefabricated construction with the reuse of elements from the previous year’s edition to put circularity into practice.

Cai Jinqing, President of Kering Greater China, said: “Kering has always held the conviction that heritage and innovation can go hand in hand, and that beauty and responsibility can coexist. Eight years into our shared journey with the CIIE, we bring together the full strength of Kering Houses and our Group platform. We are excited to make the most of the CIIE’s open platform to deepen our engagement with Chinese consumers and partners, sparking fresh inspiration, driving forward innovation, and co-creating the next era of the luxury industry together.”

As Chair of the CIIE Sustainable Fashion and Lifestyle Special Committee for the sixth consecutive year, Kering will support this year’s CIIE summit on Sustainable Consumption, continuing to convene dialogue among leading global fashion and lifestyle companies on issues shaping the future of the industry. The participants will explore how China is evolving from a key market for global brands into an increasingly important source of creativity and consumer innovation.
