GUCCI Principal Infrastructure Engineer – DevOps

JOB PURPOSE 

Principal Engineer is a key technologist who is responsible for driving the Enterprise-wide DevOps, Automation and Cloud strategies, standards and guidelines to ensure service reliability, scalability and performance of Applications of Gucci landscape. Architecting and solution planning the automation of the development, deployment, release, hyper-care and operations of business critical technology solutions using Site reliability Engineering practices. Principal Engineer will leverage emerging technologies to build self-healing and scalable applications and environments, architecting migration to the cloud to improve fault tolerance, reduce failure rates and optimize TCO across the entire infrastructure stack, expanding IT’s monitoring capabilities, and improving the overall management of technical operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Design, build and maintain highly available, scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline and automate the deployment of applications, ensuring seamless delivery to production environments. 
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance, availability and reliability, providing expert guidance and support as needed. 
  • Implement and manage CDN (Akamai) configurations to optimize content delivery and minimize latency. 
  • Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources. 
  • Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and address infrastructure issues and performance bottlenecks. 
  • Ensure adherence to AWS best practices and cost optimization strategies, actively identifying areas for improvement and cost savings. 
  • Develop and maintain documentation of infrastructure architecture, processes, and best practices. 
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, continuously seeking opportunities to improve and innovate. 
  • Design and implement an internal development platform with a focus on self-service, automation, and developer-centric features, streamlining the deployment of infrastructure templates and resources. 

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • 8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with a focus on cloud-based environments. 
  • Strong expertise in AWS services and cloud architecture, with a demonstrated understanding of AWS best practices and cost management. 
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, specifically Terraform and CloudFormation. 
  • Extensive knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar. 
  • Experience with CDN configuration and management, specifically Akamai. 
  • Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies, tools, and practices. 
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS  

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification. 
  • Experience in the luxury fashion industry or working with high-traffic e-commerce platforms. 
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
