Sabato de Sarno

Creative Director

Born on 31 March 1983, Sabato de Sarno grew up in Cicciano, near Naples. After his high school studies with a scientific curriculum, he moved to Milan where he graduated in Fashion Design Womenswear and Pattern Making at the Carlo Secoli Fashion Institute. 

 

De Sarno debuted in the Fashion industry as Assistant Pattern-Maker at Prada between 2003 and 2006. That year, he joined the knitwear manufacturer Annapurna SPA as Designer’s Assistant until, in 2008, he accepted the position of Head Designer of the Women’s Knitwear and Jersey Collection at Dolce & Gabbana. 

 

In 2009, de Sarno moved to Rome to embark on a fourteen-year career at Valentino where he held different position until 2020, when he became Fashion Director of Men’s and Women’s Ready-to-Wear. 

 

In January 2023, Sabato de Sarno is named Creative Director of Gucci.
