Alexander McQueen is in search of a Special Projects Assistant who will support the Special Projects Manager and report into Head of Woven at Alexander McQueen.
The Special Projects Assistant will support the Special Projects Manager and report into Head of Woven at Alexander McQueen.
Working on VIP projects and couture client orders ensuring the critical path lead by the Special Projects Manager and Head of Woven is adhered to and executed in the best possible way
Supporting the design team with preparing design packages including research, creating digital colour-ups of sketches, prepping fabric swatches and design recaps
Supporting the Head Of Atelier including plotting and cutting of patterns , sourcing of trims and fabrics
Prepare for VIP fittings including archive pulls, setting up fitting space, steaming samples, returning samples, assisting in couture fittings, dressing in fittings
Supporting the team with ordering all necessary components including trims ,fabrics and haberdashery for each project. (Strong fabric knowledge is a plus)
Maintaining couture fabric and embroidery boards for fittings
Preparing fittings box for external and internal VIP fittings
Packing and shipping finished garments at the end of the project
Documenting each project including photographing the toiles/protos and final pieces as well as documenting all fabrication of individual projects
Making sure all documentation digital and hard copy is up to date.
Your skills and experience:
Experience in similar role within a luxury house
The ideal candidate is clear with process, a serial problem solver and great at communicating
Highly organised, capable of dealing with a high-pressure environment and a detail-oriented team player
Good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop (strong photoshop skills are required) Illustrator, and InDesign, as well as Microsoft Office
Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and requests, while working under pressure
Fabric expertise is a plus
Understanding of basic patterns and garment construction - Lectra knowledge a bonus
