In 1735, inspired by a passion for “white gold,” Marquis Carlo Andrea Ginori founded a porcelain factory in Doccia, near Florence. Ginori 1735 was soon embraced as a symbol of elegance and refinement, finding its way into the most opulent residences. Forging tableware and decorative objects from the fusion of art and craftsmanship, the artisans of the Manifattura di Doccia experimented with vibrant colors and exuberant motifs, a far cry from the classic white porcelain of the time. Today, elevating homeware to an art form, Ginori 1735 creates collections encompassing porcelain, home fragrances and candles, as well as crystal objects, cutlery and furniture.
Over the years, the Ginori 1735 world was shaped by a multitude of voices and styles that reinvest the House’s legacy, bringing art into daily life. Italian artist Gio Ponti created some of the House’s most recognizable styles, including the geometric Labirinto collection. Another icon is the Colonna, a symbol of 1950s modernism, designed by Giovanni Gariboldi in 1954. The floral exuberance of Oriente Italiano, the architectural precision of Catene, Luke Edward Hall’s enchanting drawings for Il Viaggio di Nettuno… The House continues to showcase its passion for the art of porcelain, expanding its creative world through collaborations with celebrated artists and designers.
