About us Cristóbal Balenciaga founded the House in 1917 in his home of Spain. In 1937, he established the brand in Paris, designing its collections there until 1968. Cristóbal Balenciaga had a reputation as a couturier of uncompromising standards and was referred to as "the master of us all" by Christian Dior and as “The Couturier of the Couturiers” by Gabrielle Chanel. The ultra-modern shapes were trademarks of the house. While the brand’s identity is firmly rooted in its highly conceptual prêt-à-porter collections, its leather goods, footwear, and accessories experience worldwide success as well. Among the archetypal products of the House are its handbag collections. A new focus on the development of Balenciaga ready-to-wear collections for men was quickly established as highly successful. Since October 2015, Demna has designed both men’s and women’s collections as the artistic director. The Balenciaga House, part of the Kering group since 2001, is one of the most influential names in fashion.

BALENCIAGA – CDD – JEWELRY & EYEWEAR: COLLECTION COORDINATION & MERCHANDISING MANAGER (H/F) (F/M)

We are currently seeking a Collection Coordination and Merchandising Manager who will report to the studio.

Your opportunity

Integrated to the Studio, you will be responsible for the Coordination and Merchandising of the Jewelry & Eyewear Collections and for Men, Women and Couture. You will also manage two collaborators.

How you will contribute

Collection Coordination

  • Collection coordination between design studio and technical development teams based in Italy for each meeting with the studio and during fashion weeks, from brief to production review
  • Contribute to the research of materials and suppliers specialized in sustainable development in order to consolidate catalogs of opportunities
  • Collaborate with other departments (leather goods, shoes, ready-to-wear) to promote cross-selling and transversality within gifting categories
  • Ensure product compliance on campaign visuals and e-commerce pack shots

Collection Merchandising

  • Define commercial briefs for each collection (number of lines, styles, skus, structure, prices), taking into account seasonal, commercial and growth needs. Look out for opportunities hand in hand with studio (product and drop wise)
  • Manage and present collection to worldwide buyers and showroom associates
  • Conduct qualitative & quantitative performance analysis
  • Elaborate roadmaps for the sustainable transition of both categories

Who you are

A 3 to 4 years experienced professional from the Jewelry or License industry

A passionate with the highest level of professionalism in all behaviors, including communication, teamwork and detail oriented

An excellent communicator with interpersonal skills having the ability to build and maintain relationships

A game changer to participate in achieving sustainability goals

Fluent English is essential, and you are familiar with the Office Pack, in particular Excel (pivot tables and data extractions) and PPT

Italian, French, Photoshop/In design are a plus
